Guest guest
Dear Aisha, I'm so glad everything turn out so well. Congradulations and get well soon. Take care of yourself. Your sarc sister, Kim from EP Surgery Update Hello Everyone, Thank you for the prayers and love sent my way. I am overwhelmed by the support. Yesterday was a very very long day. Starting at 5:15am and we didn't get home till about sometime after 6pm. They were originally going to keep me in overnight. I had a bed booked. This was incase I threw up or bleed a lot in recovery. I didn't. I was the model patient of course. Perfect blood pressure, oxygen, just looked like a bit of a vampire with blood stained teeth (do still actually) Can't say it was an easy day, but under all circumstances it was. The people at Prince of Wales Hospital were WONDERFUL. The staff were fantastic. The anaesthetist was just special - although me being me - my veins ran away and all my IV stuff was done via foot. She was funny though, she was telling me that the little punctures in each arm first were just accupuncture to calm me down. Considering how many tests I've had, I was not stressed about a needle. Cool Banana's! (lol, her expression!) They did indeedy do all 4 wisdom teeth (tooth faery didn't visit me though!) And did the lip biopsy. I'm sure Mr Immunologist will be thrilled with that. If there is anything there other than "inflammation" and they did all the dental work. Of course the stitches are driving me insane. (I want copies of my blood tests too hint hint Mr Immuno - fair exchange I think. You get a biopsy I get numbers LOL). I'm back on Keflex and have to see both the Maxillofacial guy and Dr Dentist next week. Oh joy! I'm a bit sore today, but nothing too dramatic. Haven't even popped a painkiller yet. I'm living on puree which isn't anything new, and sipping LOTS of water. I'd make a lousy vampire. This blood taste is not for me. I'd have to be vegetarian LOL. Anyhow I'm zonked and I've only been awake an hour or so. It's time to sleep again. I'll write when I can and when I can actually read all that you wrote to me. Thank you again everyone, I was very calm going into surgery because I knew I had excellent people looking after me, not only the doctors and nurses, but all my friends and family. You are all amazing and I am a very grateful and lucky person. With love, Aisha. ____________________________________________________ IncrediMail - Email has finally evolved - Click Here ~~~~ *** ~~~ *** ~~~ *** ~~~~The Neurosarcoidosis CommunityLive Group Chat:-Mondays & Fridays 10pm EST USAhttp://www.elderwyn.com/neurosarcoidosis/chat.phpMessage Archives and Digest Attachment Pictures:-http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Neurosarcoidosis/messagesMembers Database:-Listings of locations, phone numbers, and instant messengers.http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Neurosarcoidosis/database Bookmarks:-Add a website URL you have found useful.http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Neurosarcoidosis/linksPersonal Complaints or problems:-Please email the moderatorsmailto:Neurosarcoidosis-owner Subscription Details:-1) Individual email - means that every email sent to the list you receive.2) Daily Digest - sends you 25 messages in one single email for you to browse. Guest guest
: I will only be in the hospital 23 hours--yes, that is a bizarre time frame, but I was told it was to avoid Kaiser seeing it as an overnight stay (or something like that for billing purposes, I guess?). I won't be in Kaiser Richmond, however. In fact, while my surgeon is a Kaiser dr, the surgery will be performed in a private surgery facility in Castro Valley, which is wonderfull since I live 5 minutes from the facility. Thanks for your support and kind words. Gemello -133 lbs > ---Gemello > > How long will you be in the hospital and which one???? Guest guest
Colleen: Thanks for your support. Funny, at first I was kind of a big ball of emotions (happy, scared, thankful, pensive, etc., etc...) but now I've evened out a bit. I'm just taking each day as it comes, but as the big day approaches, I'm sure that I'll need to practice my deep breathing and relaxation techniques. I've scheduled 4 massages between now and then so that should help me zen out too. And of course, I'll share all my experiences with you all in the hopes of helping you the way reading about your experiences helps me. Guest guest
Gemello one of the most valuable things we learned in our weight management class was each class was started with a sort of relaxation technique and our instructor Jane would voice commands over soothing soundscape type music, it was very peaceful, infact when she would call us back to the room and our surroundings i was so wanting to stay in my big orange bubble.......we did things with breathing on that and picking a color to surround us, i loved it ! I would agree on the deep breathing as it gets closer, i am getting sort of nervous going tomorrow for my first consult and wondering what this doctor will say about the bomb i will drop about the wls..............but i have to start somewhere and not be as soft about things as i usually am, what i mean is i need to speak up for me because i havent in the past .................... colleenGemello DiGiovanni wrote: Colleen:Thanks for your support.
