Guest guest
I have both FMS/RLS. I have been unable to stop working because I am divorced and dependent on my income. I stopped taking all the medications because of having to work. Now I only take Aleve 2 pills twice daily and Tylenol PM for sleep. I also always sleep with two pillows between my knees. I have as much relief now as I did when I was on all those narcotics. I hope this helps. Cheri
Guest guest
> Does anyone out there have both of these syndromes? Restless Leg > Syndrome with Fibromyalgia? Oh I think there are a few of us here that have Restless Leg Syndrome and Fibromyalgia......lol. I had Restless Leg Syndrome so bad I would get up 2 or 3 times a night and take hot baths to try and stop it. Then I discovered Benadryl that helps me most of the time. But now I am using Protein Whey and it has done the most for me at this time. I don't know if it will work for you but for me at least I can sleep all night. (I also could feel my hair growing through my skin on my legs) It use to drive me nuts! Sincerely,
Guest guest
Yes, I do have FMS, and recently was diagnosed with RLS and sever sleep apnea. These were diagnosed after spending the night at a sleep clinic. I have been on SO many meds, and right now the meds I'm taking seem to be helping immensely. I take Methadone during the day for FMS, also reflux, a muscle relaxer. In addition, since the sleep study I'm on a drug that is used on people with Parkinsons disease called Sinemet CR. It's used to stop trembling and seizures. Also, they discovered I stopped breathing on an average of 59 times an hour during sleep, so I now sleep with the Bi-PAP mask. They started me on the mask first, then after 2 weeks I started the Sinemet and thats when I really noticed the difference. Before I was so exausted all the time that there were days I couldn't get out of bed and I couldn't tell which was worse, the pain from FMS, or the exaustion. This seems to have turned into a very lengthy response, sorry. But I wanted you to know that I feel better now than I ever thought I would. It may be a combination of all these things, but it sure is worth checking out. If you have any questions, I would be happy to try and help. Guest guest
---, thanks for the reply. I have been so used to sleeping 3 hours a night, that I wouldn't know what to do with more sleep. When it first started it was after my first pregnancy - mild....I took Robaxisal and it did the trick - tried quinine, etc. etc. just like everyone else - no answer. Then I had my gallbladder out and the pain pill for the surgery (vicodin) stopped the RLS - I couldn't believe it. So, have been on it since BUT searching for a non narcotic solution. The RLS really gets to me some nights and goes into my hands and arms. I feel like I'm having an epileptic seizure which - I guess many doctors say - RLS is a form of. Some sort of seizure. I've tried all the rx for epilepsy and they disagree with my system - I feel like a vegetable. I just tried VIOXX and it worked on some parts, but intensified the RLS - PLUS dizziness that you couldn't believe. Pure VERTIGO!!!! So, I'm off that now. Next they want me to try Nortryptaline - so.....guess I'll try.... thanks for your input. ML

My FMS doesn't go into remission, but the pains and aching leg muscles are less because I take Vicodin for the Restless Legs. I'm still working on a combination of rx that work for me - to stop the FMS discomfort AND the RLS - usually if something works for one it aggravates the other. So it has been difficult finding any help. Sorry I don't have more to report.
