I don't recall how quickly they sent my schedule to me, but I'm sure if you

call your patient coordinator and explain the situation they will either

tell you over the phone or send it to you. It's entirely possible that they

don't even have your reservations made yet.

wondering how soon will PB send me my schedule? I need to fill out

paperwork for my boss and it would sure be nice to be able to tell

them what is going on at this point.

Thanks

  • 2 months later...

Took me 3 weeks, then another 2 weeks of 1/2 days, now I am back full

time. :) Hope this helps.

I own my own business and I returned to

cleaning houses at 10 days post op BUT I would never recommend it to anyone. I felt

fine after two weeks. The first few days were a killer but being a business

owner I needed to get to work to earn the living. Hope that helps you a bit. Sue

Question for posties

Just a question for all of

you posties out there...On the average

how long did it take those of you who had open

surgeries to get back

to work?

Just curious.

Hi Danny,

You have to check with your surgeon about the amount of weight that you can lift after surgery. You don't want to over do it because it can cause a hernia. usually you are not able to lift a lot of weight for a while.

I had my surgery open in SSF and I was back to work in 3 weeks. I have an office job and do alot of sitting so that helped. It still took me about 2 additional weeks to get over feeling really tired at the end of the day.

This is a good question as I am a truck driver and do some heavy lifting, I pretty much figure on being out myself somewhere along the lines of 6 weeks, does this sound about right?

If you have a physically demanding job, you will definitely be out longer than someone who has a desk job. I would plan on 6 weeks so that you can be physically ready to go back to work.Danny Monge wrote:

I went back after two weeks, which was too soon. I should have given myself

one to two more weeks.

very best,
