Hey J'net,

It is so great about your date. You are going to just love Dr. Just don't let any nurses do any second catheters on you. (grin) It's also great to see that you have been here reading posts from some of the most wonderful, knowledgable people around. I know that without this group I would not have been able to do this. Thank you, Shell.

Who is going down with you? Are you at the Summerset or Comfort Inn? I sure hope it is the Summerset. I know that you will do great no matter where the stay is though. Yippee, you're on your way!!!

Hi J'net,

I just read your post. Girl, you are not alone. I live in Manteca

and recently joined their WLS support group. It is great.

Please e-mail me directly and I'll help you get connected.

If you started your journey this last August you are doing fantastic!

I started the same time and I am still jumping through Kaiser hoops

before I can even get my paper work submitted.

Hope to hear from you soon.

D.

Hi Jeanette,

Nice to meet you. You certainly have a lot to deal with.

I admire your strength.

Shortly you will be on the lighter side and feeling even stronger.

(Well . . . truth to be told, you'll probably feel weak as a kitten for

a bit . . . but that passes fairly quickly.)

I'll keep you in my prayers for an uncomplicated surgery and a full

& speedy recovery.

All the best,

Kay

My journey has seemed very long. I started the process Sept

of

2003. It seemed to go smoothly for a while but just a lot

of

waiting. I'm having my surgery Feb 19 with Dr Zorn at Pacific

Bar.

I have thought that Feb would never arrive. I had my marathon

appointment in Aug, where I meet Tami and she told me about this

group (Thank you Tami!)

I feel like I'm ready to go. I've been praying that I will

be

physically as well as mentally ready for the new journey.

I have

included everyone I know in this whole process and I have so much

support, it really is so overwheling. The one thing that

I have not

done is attend any support groups. If anyone knows of one

in the

Manteca area I would greatly apprecite the information.

In December I found out that my job was being eleminted, and Dec

31st was my last day, this was hard for me knowing that I was having

surgery, but my job made sure that they gave me enough to make

it

through the surgery and for that I'm very thankful. So I'm facing

lots of new things this year, the surgery, new job, my mother is

advancing with her althimers (sorry I'm a horrible speller) and

is

needed more care everyday.

I just felt the need to tell a little bit about me, and tell

everyone how very thankful that I have had all of you as a support,

even though I'm not a big poster. The information that I

have

received here has helped so much in my preparation.

It is funny I have always thought that being on the other side was

when I would wake up in Heaven, but I'm finding that this new other

side is the second chance at life that I have so desired.

Thanks again for everyone's honesty in this good, you all deserved

great big blessings and hugs.

Thanks

J'net
