Guest guest
> -----, I am also low in both calcium and magnesium, red low and yellow low on my hair test, and calcium low on a blood test. My old supplements had magnesium oxide, which I have now found out to be the least absorbable form. I have just ordered a cal-mag supp which is in the citrate-malate form, which is supposed to be more absorbable, and the citrate form is supposed to make your urine more alkaline, which is what you want for chelating. So we'll see if it helps or not! > > Are you really low in alot of minerals on your hair test? I am. I am low yellow for both magnesium and calcium in hair tests. (The Hair Test book says that low yellow mag with derange mineral transport is a case where Andy doesn't really have a specific recommendation. For low red and deranged he recommends taurine.) I've been taking some mag citrate and mag aspartate. I tried mag taurate which didn't seem to do much and mag glycinate which made me feel bad. In thinking about the calcium angle overnight I realized that I have tried higher calcium supplementation several times and felt bad when I did. I also developed clicking joints. I am now supplementing mag and calcium within the ratios Andy recommends (200 mg calcium, 300 mg magnesium).
