Guest guest
Kay, Thank you for your support! I believe that I will wait about 2 or 3 weeks to get a date and then surgery will probably be in March or April.. Problem is that if I can't do it by the end of March then I'll have to wait until June because I have to do 9 weeks of student teaching.. I can either do the student teaching in April and May or May and June... Thanks, Angie

I survived San Diego My marathon apts. were in San Diego on Tuesday. My dear friend went with me so that I didn't have to go alone. I had trouble sleeping the night before, I finally fell asleep about 2am and woke up at 4am. and I arrived at the airport at 6:00 am for our 7:30 flight. I preboarded the plane and asked the flight attendant for the seatbelt extender. He was very nice about it and had no problems at all. I put my "reserved seat" ticket on the seat between us, but the plane wasn't full so it really wasn't needed anyway... I did end up renting a car and I was very glad I did. It was only $30 and well worth it. We got to enterprise and the people there were sooooo friendly and made sure I knew how to get where we were going. The first appointment was with Dr. . Let me just tell you that I ABSOLUTELY love her! She is very nice and very knowledgeable. She explained all the risks and asked if I had any questions. I wanted clarification on how the put me back together b/c I read here that they don't use stitches, only steritape. She laughed and said of course she uses stitches. They dissolve and the tape is put over the stitches. I left that appointment and had three hours until my next appointment with Dr. Ann , the internist. To kill the time we drove around San Diego and went to Sushi for lunch. The EKG and physical went well. I am very healthy, except for my weight. We had to rush to the psych. appointment when we left Dr. . The psych appointment was with Dr. Sallie Hildebrandt. She was very nice and made me feel comfortable. She asked me about my family growing up about my parents. She also wanted to know what my goal weight is and my lowest and highest adult weights. Dr. Hildebrandt told me that her friend is one of the anesthesiologist used by PB and he told her that they are doing 11 surgeries a day now! WOW!!!! She said she didn't have that many patients to dictate so she should be able to have my info to PB by the end of this week After this appointment we had another 3 hours before we needed to be at the airport so we drove around some more. I found the hotels used by PB so I could see where they are located. You guys weren't kidding about how close the Sommerset is to the hospital. So now the waiting game begins (AGAIN).... I'll keep you all posted... Thanks for reading! Angie Crowley preop Dr.
