Guest guest
No offense, but sounds like you need to check out the menopause lists :-) This is a common complaint there, and sometimes the gals are in their 30s. Re: Re: Odd Question> Wrote:I was a mess, sometimes bleeding for a whole month and some months nothing. Hi , I read your post and found it very strange, because as of lately I have been bleeding for about 8-10 days. I was never like that and thought maybe it was from stress or something. I have fibroid tumors and the dr. said my periods would eventually become erratic(sp?). I am just wondering now if its from the FMS..or something like that...Its so hard to figure out what is going on sometimes its so frustrating...I don't want my period for any longer then I have too...lol Thanks
Guest guest
Jill... you know it!!! I have been going thru hotflashes since I was 32yrs old and am 40 on Aug7. I am now having nightsweats, oh what joy, let's mess up 's sleep now too. LOL I am on the Alesse(birth control) pill which is the lowest hormone pill available. It was helping with my hotflashes but it seems like it is not really working a whole lot now. I have some Wild Yam powder in capsule form which is said to help. I will give this a stab and if it doesn't work then I will invest the $35/container of Wild Yam Cream, which I know helps. You have to be very dedicated to using the cream tho. Read directions because there are many forms of the cream and some you use daily and some you use like birth control pills with 3weeks on and 1week off. We all want instant solutions and this takes a couple days to a week or so depending on the concentration and if you use it once or twice a day. If anyone is going to try the Wild Yam Cream I will warn you not to put it on your breasts (it has to be on a spot on your body, which is softer skin which is not exposed to sun etc, example ~ upper chest, behind, upper inner arm, stomach, thighs and yes breasts, rotating the spot you use it on daily) because your breasts will increase in size. I found that one out on my own. LOL At first I was really confused at what the heck was going on. A friend of mine who was rather flat chested went and got some of the cream just to increase her size. LOL it was so funny. Like a late bloomer waiting patiently for her breasts to " pop " out. I suggested just smacking her a good one on the back cause maybe they were stuck. Oh my, we almost laughed til we were crying... In the US the cream is only about $15 at any health food store. One jar will last about 3months using the amount of a size of a dime 2x/day. So, it is really reasonable. Just passing on some info for you all. I know it helps and I know how embarrassing hotflashes can be out in public and we cannot control when we are going to have them. Angel Hugs+Love aka Spark SparklH2O@... Guest guest
Jillie... thanks will have to check it out. I am allergic to most weed, flower, grasses etc so I have to be careful even with herbs. I am actually using the Dong Quai for my legs. I have lymphedema and it is supposed to slowly decrease the size by breaking down the built up tissues down and allowing the body to remove the toxins in a more normal process. People with lymphedema do not usually have the tubes (as I call them) to take the toxins out and into urine or sweat etc. I have the tubes that bring the moistures to the tissues etc and due to the excess it travels via gravity and lands in your lower legs, and then if not treated the tissue hardens over time. I read the Dong Quai you take for 3months and then begin the special MLD treatments, and over a year your legs can go down between 1/4 to 1/2 in size. It is a very slow process but I am willing to try it. Some say " just let them cut out the tissue and resculpt your legs " , easy said than done because there is a lot of poor wound healing and I do not want a inner leg scar from ankle to top of leg and not have it heal properly. I am willing to go the slow route for now until plastic surgery comes up with a guaranteed way to do the proceedure. I am a guinea pig no more thanks. Guest guest
There are some great " meno-lists " :-) Well, I joined here cuz of my terrible foot pain...hoping to meet other with the same thing....(gads....that sounds awful) I am actually doing better...cuz I can get up off the floor now.....before I couldn't...it hurt the foot I pushed off with. They both hurt now tho, and the worse one is just becoming all lumpy around the ankle. Lumps and bumps. I massage it, and what can I say.....keep on grittin the teeth, and gettin around. Thank the Lord I work....take care of children .....and if they didn't come to my house everyday, and I didn't have to be up and dressed and ready for the day, I know I'd lay around and my feet would probably get worse..... just so dang frustratin. nite'all jill Re: Re: Odd Question> Jillie... thanks will have to check it out. Guest guest
, you know you could be going through menopause. I had fobroids too and one big one on the outside of my uterus. When I went in for my gall bladder surgery, I got my GYN doctor to attend too so he could look inside and see what was going on. He found endomytriosis and took the tumor out then the other doctor did the gall bladder surgery. Later I was put on hormones. It took 6 months to get me adjusted to the right dosage and the right type. This went on for two years. Now everything is OK. Yes, please don't blame everything on FMS. It just seems that when it rains it pours, doesn't it? . Guest guest
.... anyone with lymphedema cannot take water pills because it is not like in high blood pressure where it is water gain. This fluid is toxins that have no way out normally and a water pill removes surface water but does nothing to help the lymph nodes. A water pill will just rob our systems of important things like potassium etc. Angel Hugs+Love aka Spark. Kathys Christian Fibromyalgia Website (http://www.geocities.com/HotSprings/Villa/5998/) a good site to learn about lymphedema
Guest guest
... My Dr would not have me on it if there was such a bad thing.... it is to help the hotflashes/nightsweats. Have you ever had these? The only difference between the Alesse and Hormone Replacement is you take 1 Alesse instead of 2 Hormone replacement. I talked all this out with my Dr. I am not a dummy. I know a lot medically and I would not subject myself to anything which would give me more medical stuff to go wrong. Also, a lot of the Canadian meds are different than the US meds. I learned that while spending a lot of time in TN for my music biz. I have a good family Dr and she would not allow me to be on something which would cause me more problems. She has seen how bad the hotflashes are, and unless you have been there you have no clue what it is like, or how embarrassing it can be when you are out in public and without warning it comes over you. Guest guest
I'm 42...and on the pill with no problems. Its the lowest from of Loestrin..but I also have a very careful GYN...she not only does the regular tests but also ultra-sound....she put me on it after a very thorough med and family check...I never smoked or drink...always had good health habbits and there is *no* cancer in my family. I was having very heavy periods...sometimes several times a month. My GYN gave me a whole series of tests and there were no tumours...she even did a biopsy....she put me on the pill as a last resort and my life is so much better now...I dread the day she tells me I have to go off it....but maybe by then I won't have that particular kind of problem... Guest guest
, I used to have hot flashes then they almost disappeared. Now I get a little. My hormone replacement has been discontinued because they found something on my right breast. Tomorrow I am going to Fox Chase cancer center for second opinion. My gynecologist does not want to restart the hormones until we find out if the nodule on my breast is nothing. Yes, I had a friend who had the flashes so bad that she would turn bright red and would perspire so profusely that the sweat would drip off her face. It must be horrible. I am glad that you have a good doctor who keeps your meds in check. I have a little bit of a problem there. I take so many from different doctors that often I get too many side effects. Guest guest
Sounds like you have a real good doctor Sharon. At least she did a thorough checkup on you. I was on Loestrin for 20 years. Maybe that's why they would not give me anymore. I tell you, it was great. A year after I stopped it I started having increasingly heavier periods and then the awful cramps started and were always getting worse. It got so bad that I was taking 1600 mgs. of Motrin sometimes 3 times a day. Then I had bleading ulcers. I still have ulcers and other intestinal problems. If you can stay on Loestrin, that's great.
