Guest guest
Hi Tami P., Yes, I sure do feel the heat more than most people. I'll be sweating when everyone else has chill bumps. My sister and dad get mad at me every time I go somewhere in the car with them because I can't tolerate the heater on. I'm not sure if my heat intolerance is related to Fibro, or not. My Endocrinologist says that the unusally high dosage of Synthroid I take will cause it. It's the mid-80's today and I live in a mobile home with no air-conditioner. I'm sick of winter and glad to see spring, but it's not going to be a picnic since my A/C died. Gentle Hugs, Jacqui " Anything less than mad, passionate, extraordinary love is a waste of time. Guest guest
I never thought it was the fibro, but I will be sweating when others are wearing sweaters and complaining about it being cold. I have a fan at work that I keep on so I can stand by it between bringing pt's back. (I work in a doc's office). In fact the people I work with keep saying it is my age! Could be, I'm 50! Look forward to hearing from more of you on the subject. Patti

Guest guest
Hi Tami: My friends call me Jaz and I'm new to the group. But I read your e-mail and HAD to respond!!! YES!! The heat fatigues me quicker than anything!! It's almost like my body thermostat is broken. My boyfriend insists we Kayak, jet ski, ride the Harleys(I had my own 883 sporty and he replaced it with a new 2000 Fatboy) and he has NO CLUE just how quickly my energy is zapped!!!! We argue about it constantly. He says I'm only as sick as I tell myself I am. He thought that buying me a new Harley would encourage me to ride more. He doesn't seem to understand that I would give almost ANYTHING to be the way I USE to be. I'm afraid this relationship is doomed and I'm unable to work, sold everything I owned to move here from OH to live with him, and I'm scared. I don't mean to " dump " on you. It seems to start rolling out once I get started. I'm sorry that you too struggle with the heat. Have you ever had a sun stroke or heat stroke that your aware of? Jaz summer and being hot Do u all feel the heat more than others because of the Fibro? It is like 68 here and I am feeling like I want to crawl in the freezer. I don't like the heat but this year I am sure its going to be much worse. ~~~Tami~~~
Guest guest
Hi Everyone, I don't have fibro, just the CFS, and temperature control is one of my biggest problems. I tend to be too hot much of the time, I can be really sweating when everyone else is cold. But I also sometimes am very cold and cannot get warm. I mentioned this to my GP when I was first ill, because I hadn't read anywhere that this was a symptom. But my GP told me that it was one of the symptoms of CFS. I have a friend who has fibro but no CFS and she suffers with temp control too. Hope everyone is feeling ok. Take care. Lorraine.

Guest guest
Well, I also don't know if its the fibro, but I get very warm very quickly in a stuffy room. I live in a rental MH with storm windows and no screens and not much insulation, and I run my AC more than anyone I know. Tracey DeWolf bluewolf@... Guest guest
Patti... Hi! I also have a small fan which uses batteries which I keep near when I am hit with a bad hotflash. It gets so bad my hair is soaked and I get sweat running into my eyes. I am only 39yrs (big 4-0 on Aug 7th) and been doing this crap since I was 32yrs. At first. I was using the Alesse which is the lowest form of birth control pill and it helped some. Now, I it seems I am worse and now include nightsweats. I am trying a new pill next week which is 1 up from the Alesse and am praying it will help. My family Dr said that HRT would not help this due to my age and I have not completed menopause yet. The best thing that happened was when I went last Wednesday for my Bshot (B1.B6,B12 into 1 shot) for the fibro stiffness she saw a hotflash in progress and it was awful. My hair was soaked and would have been worse if I had my hair down. Funny thing is that the Dr and I are about the same age. It was my family Dr would told me that the fibro messes with your internal thermometer. People who never felt the cold like me sure do now. I never used to wear a sweater under my fleece jacket but I sure do now. Any drastic change in the weather is awful. I am in Vancouver, BC, Canada and we have had a lot of rain this winter so far. When it rains then I get the burning under my skin which it seems nothing takes it away. All I can do is try and lay as still as I can and hopefully fall asleep. Hope some of this has helped you. Guest guest
Lorraine: YOU take care too! I'm living in VA but originally from OH. What state are you from? If this is getting too personal, I apologize. I just like to know The type of climate you live in. Sort of my own little research thing. Guest guest
I can't take the heat any more either, and I use to love it! If I need to go out in the sun for a while, I use this " necktie " that you soak in cold water and then put around your neck or head. It helps a lot! You have to keep putting it in cold water since your body heats it up, but just the water evaporating off feels good! Darcy
Guest guest
Jazzy, I wanted to put my temp issues in too...LOL...I live in Vermont, but was in Virginia for a year. I was glad to move back because the humidity in VA made me cold..cold...cold...I have never been cold in my life! Guest guest
I'm in Kentucky and it is humid here. I'm burning up right now, although that is a function of this hot old building I'm in and not of the actual weather today. But, I'm tired and I want to go home. Guest guest
I don't know if it's FMS or 50 and perimenopausal but any time I get overheated I look and feel as if I'm on fire!! Any exertion is both painful at the time and for days afterward. I'm anxious to read the other responses. Pat > Do u all feel the heat more than others because of the Fibro? Guest guest
WOW! That is neat! I'm very curious about the UK. and I do a lot of traveling. We've been to Switzerland and we LOVED it there. Personally, I want to spend some time in Ireland, Egypt, and other places that most people try to avoid for some reason. Maybe it is ME who is odd? Have a great day today and each day that follows. Guest guest
Hey all ! Add me to those of us whose temps are up and down - either too hot or too cold! Now add humidity in S. Florida, and you KNOW I'll be indoors with the a.c. on for a good 6 months starting any day now - sigh.... Colette p.s. I had a hysterectomy 5 years ago, but am taking Estrace (a form of estrogen)
