I didn't know we started at the same time. I thought you were in remission?

Dr. Franco offered a few things to me, and I will be talking with him in a

few weeks when my other tests come in. I am putting together a list of

questions for that phone consult which I will mail to him beforehand so I

can try to be really effective.

He said that usually he finds that people with symptoms that are harder to

pin down have a, in general, more assured positive response to the AP than

those people with very obvious diagnosis and symptoms--I took this to mean

that the disease isn't so entrenched in the system i.e. genetic markers,

history in the family, etc.

He also scolded me, in a nice way, some for simply starting the therapy

based on the web site recommendations, or trying to increase my dose (I

could only make it up to 100mg/day without severe fatigue and depression)

without seeing him first. He said that every case is individual and that it

needs to be considered that way.

You did call it right! And you got me thinking too about that original

diagnosis of PA, which never felt right to me to begin with.

He said my RA was from, he thought, the various infections I had (Who knows

which one because I had bacterial and parasitic). He said there could be

some hidden infection now but most likely it was just a trigger.

I asked about other antibiotics and he downplayed them, but he did want to

see my reactive arthritis test back first before he made that decision.

(That was an expensive test! $350.00!). If you can think of some good

questions I should ask, let me know, I'll try and add to my list.

Hi, ,

You and started the AP at about the same time, I think, and I remember

wondering if you didn't have reactive arthritis, which is my diagnosis. You

may recall that we even had yeast infections of the skin at about the same

time.

So, I am really glad to see what Dr. Franco has had to say. Did he say

anything specifically about the effectiveness of minocycline for ReA? Why

did he say no more than 5 days a week? Did he say how and when he would

consider adding another antibiotic?

Thanks for anything you can share.

Jean

Pam s remark was scarey..If I would of heard this and just got

diagnosed before I found this group..I would of FREAKED !! Because as it

was I was scared,I knew nothing about HepC.. I knew she had it and Naomi

Judd, but hey didnt look ill,so I didnt think much about it until,I

tested positive and my hubby..Who knows why Pam did that? You would

think she would be well informed about HepC for her health sake..I would

guess publicity..Shes no dummy..But I wonder with these celebs alot of

times,do they really have it,or is it a publicity thing? PERIOD...I have

seen her on shows and she never talked about HepC..I last saw her about

a month ago on the Sharon Osbourn show..She looked well. They didnt speak

of the Hep C...I wish she would bring the attention it needs to it!! Ive

learned alot threw LeighAnn and this group and books, plus enternet...I

would love to hear what the Liver Association says..about Pams

Comment..Yes she might have only ten fifteen years if she is drinking

alot adding fuel to the fire!! This will problely be in the Enquirer or

Star Magazine..Looks lke Tommy and her are getting back together...

RE: Socks - A VA gave me a pull-on sock device years ago. I use it daily. It

really helps. It is not expensive. It is a device where you put the sock on

about three inches an it sticks to the material. It has two straps that you pull

once you have the device in

place. I am sure that it is available. Ask your doctor, therapist or any

other med office or center. Jim

Gosh, all this chat about tools to help reminds me! I have a " grabber " in

nearly every room in the house. I also use the long shoe horn that was given to

me after my original surgery. For one reason or another, I am among the

throngs who have problems shaving the legs!

Donna,

I agree KV's earlier workouts are just to much for me to handle coordination

wise, though I love her real stuff. I have gotten better handling a step and

maybe some day I'll pop them in the VCR (I have to buy a new one first) and get

it right off the bat. The Firm videos use to intimidate me, I sat on them for a

year or two and boy am I glad I pulled them back out!

Can't decide, today may be a rest day. I think I have been over training because

I get my period twice a month. UGH!!!!!!!

Hi Rob,

Thanks for answering. I'm "not" young! Almost 59 yrs. old. I have a sick husband with dementia & I "have" to be able to take care of him. I can't in this shape and he can't take care of me because of his illness. I think I am going to ask the Doc about surgery. If I stay like this I will become bedridden & I'm just not going to let that happen.

Thanks again,

Shari

good luck,

sorry-my memory really sucks these days. I hope they can help you so you

can continue to function and support your husband. I know its not the same,

but my wife had surgery very shortly after i did and it was a mess so i can

understand the need for someone to be healthy enough to run th household.

sorry again for not remembering your situation- no excuse :)
