Guest guest
I have heard it should say: Gastric Bypass - Do Not Blindly Scope. It's not the breathing tube that is the problem - it's a tube that goes into the stomach (usually for diagnostic purposes). Laurie W. Medical Alert Bracelets? Hey,DOes anyone know the phrase we should put on a medical alert bracelet. Something like do not intubate? Or something like that, to indicate, if something happens, not to shove one of those breathing tubes down our throats, cuz of the pouch?ThanksJena
Guest guest
Hi Jena, I tried getting mine online, but couldn't find the right option, so just called their toll-free number (). The operator knew exactly what should go on it. Mine says: ROUX-EN-Y GASTRIC BYPASS PLACE NG TUBE WITH ENDOSCOPY. NO NSAIDS. It includes a number medical folks can call to get further information about me, such as emergency contacts, prior surgical procedures, allergies, etc. I decided to get a very plain bracelet. The reason I didn't get a fancy one is that I had this mental image of being unconscious, and the paramedics not recognizing my bracelet, so jamming something down my throat. Hope that helps!
