Sorry Colleen, I should have realized Kaiser plans are different. I

have a co-pay of $15 (it went up this year) for office visits, but

labs and scans are no cost. I hope you find out yours are free, or,

that they let you have the scan done where you work.

Colleen:

I've just been lurking in the background. My life has been rather hectic the last few months with work and family issues. My mother-in-law that lived in Utah passed away the end of January from stomach cancer and my father-in-law hasn't taken it real well and had a mental collapse for a few weeks and had to be hospitalized and has now been diagnosed with alzheimers (no surprise to us). We were there for a couple of weeks and since then have been doing 4-5 days every other week, trying to get their affairs in order and his house cleaned out and up on the market. He will never be allowed to live alone according to the doctors and is now living with my brother-in-law and family in Utah and will start coming here every 6-8 weeks for 2-3 weeks at a time (gives them a break and his dad a break). So have been having to redo a bedroom for him etc.. All this has screwed our schedules up at home and at work.

Health wise I'm doing ok. I have been plateauing for awhile but I know it will drop sooner or later. Would be sooner if I fit the gym back into my schedule. Eating while we have been gone has been different too. I have had a lot of stomach pain the last two months. Kaiser did a CT scan and didn't find any tumors or blockage which was great but want me to see a GI specialist (paperwork has been in the process for about a month now). I talked to Pacific Bariatrics and they put me back on protonix which helped a lot - Kaiser wants me to switch to Pepcid. I do not think it has anything to do with the surgery, I think maybe an ulcer or nerves over the last few months. Other than that I am doing great. We went to Muir Woods on the 10th and I had no problem keeping up with my family on the hikes - not winded or anything. I may not be dropping the weight but I am still dropping the inches - I am now between an 8-10 which is great! The 10's are sagging but the 8's are not really tight but not as loose as I like (need them loose enough to conceal the hanging stuff but not tight enough so you can see it all). My body is sagging but that is ok - I know that a bundle of money and a good plastic surgeon can take care of it.
