Guest guest
The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen nor touched but are felt in the heart. Helen Keller Hi Sally Well I am behind aren't I !! Got to the stage where I was going backwards with mail, now have gone to the beginning!! More of that upside down inside out Aussie stuff!! It is wonderful to hear that Elmer was able to join you for Christmas dinner. He was able to walk up the steps too!! My he has improved a lot. That's great. So good to hear some good news. Good that you found out some family history too. Should give you something to go further with family history now. Your doc sounds good too. Makes a good change to hear of an interested one!! We had in mind to collect Dad to take him up to 's for Christmas dinner. Fortunately we hadn't told him though if we had I doubt he would have remembered. On the day it was just too hot for him to take the drive up the winding mountain road and to be at 's with no air-conditioning. We were glad that we did decide against it as the three residents that were taken out by relatives all collapsed from the heat and all ended up in hospital. One unfortunately was fatal. We would have felt terrible if anything had happened to Dad. We went in on Boxing Day but he didn't know it was Christmas. Gee it is so sad for those that get this way. Cant imagine your snow!! We have seen pics of it on our news though. Also the snow that England and Scotland has been having. It is cooler here now (so far) than the heatwave we had over Christmas thank goodness. Our nephew arrived two days ago (sister Pat eldest). He has emmigrated here now to beat the legislation which probably will come into effect when Parliamient resumes preventing New Zealanders from becoming permanent residents here. We have always had reciprical agreements with NZ but that is about to end. The legislation has of course to be passed but no-one has any doubts that it will. There certainly is a rush of people coming over here now. Went to Pat's last night for New Years Eve. It was great to see Geoff there as well. He knows Aussie as he comes for a holiday once every year and always said he would end up here. Well now he has. Afraid I couldn't make seeing in the New Year. Had to leave at about 10.00PM. I was just so tired I had to go to bed. I say this then spent most of the night awake with pain!!!! Oh well!! We did have a lovely time whilst we were there. 500 at the wedding, wow!! Will definitely be thinking kind thoughts!! Don't know though how you will keep your sanity!! ) Exciting time though. Glad that managed to get some presents!! Still, Santa always remembers the kids doesn't he! Have a wonderful New Year all of you. Hope your new years resolution was to slow down a bit!! ) Much love from Anne >
