Well, guys, I decided to take 10 weeks off, instead of 4. I have a lot of PDO's (vacation, sick time, etc.) accumulated, and with the short-term disability, I can take 10 weeks at full pay (disability plus PDO's) and still have almost 5 weeks PDO's left. So, I am off until I see Larry the neuro 10/13. The only thing still in the works is my niece Sharon, who was due to deliver her second baby last Sat., 7/26. I missed her first birth because I was out of town, and I promised her that I would be there this time. She called me earlier this evening with contractions, but not regular yet. I hope she gets the show on the road tonight! Oh, some good news. I don't know if it's due to Pred effects wearing off (I'm only on 10mg a day now) or my slow-acting diuretic finally kicking in, but I've lost about 5# in the last couple of weeks. I think it's the diuretic, because I'm not getting that tight feeling in my legs anymore, like they are about to explode. Still with pain, weakness & cramps, but anytime you can scratch one symptom off the list, it's a blessing! Things are wild here. My cousin from San Diego is here with her husband & 3 kids. 's dad is here, again. He was here for two weeks a month ago, went home, then came back up last week after Sam called him in hysterics, because she didn't want to live here anymore & her mom won't take her. She was upset because I told her I was going to start cracking down on her more about chores. It's a tough life. Anyway, her dad came up here to give her "hard discipline." He's not being much help with Sam, but he's pulled my weeds, cut back ivy, mowed, cleaned the garage, and intends to paint a couple of bedrooms. My cousin is redoing the bathroom; painting walls, cabinets, putting in new floor tile. I washed dishes tonight, which is the first work I've done all week. So I'm glad they are here; I just wish he would quit telling everyone that Sam just needs a good beating. I don't think he means it, but I don't like hearing it. After he paints the rooms & finishes the weeds, I'll tell him off! Am I awful? Well, adios for tonight. Oh, another nice thing: my baby Brad turned 27 today! Hard to believe he was ever a tiny little premie (Aunt Moo, he was 4 weeks early; now he's 6'5" and 230#). Hugs to all, Ramblin' Rose
