Guest guest
, Labs dont mean anything, esp if they just take the TSH! Mine are always 'normal' too. You have to go by symptoms and body temperature (take 5 days in a row first thing in the morning before getting out of bed, under your arm). For a woman normal morning body temperature should be 97.4 or thereabouts and after ovulation, it should be over 98. If your temp below this for 5 days then you could be considered hypothyroid. Also having raised TPA means you are basically hypothyroid anyway. I just recently started on Armour to help cope with chelation side effects. I have noticed a reduction in some symptoms on some days eg increase in energy but haven't reached my optimum dose yet (just on 1/4 of a grain) plus I'm also anaemic which can affect how your body utilises thyroid hormone. Think about getting your iron stores checked too (another obvious cause of fatigue). You may want to visit the following group for more advice on taking thyroid hormone. http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormones/ Anne > > Anyone else in the group self-treating with thyroid hormone? If so, do you have a doctor checking your labs? If so, anyone using armour recommended by Andy for mercury people? If self-medicating with no doctor, how did you come to your optimal dose? What is your optimal dose? > > Thanks for sharing > > > > >

If so, do you have a doctor checking your labs? TK--- I did initially and now do occasionally but work more off how I feel. If so, anyone using armour recommended by Andy for mercury people? TK--- By slowly increasing dosage until you get the results you need. > > Thanks for sharing > > > > >
Guest guest
Hi . I'm taking a thyroid from Thailand that supposedly is similar to Armour.I got it w/o a prescription. Armour used to be available from Mexico w/o a prescription but that has changed (thanks to Customs I guess). You said that your TSH was normal. Do you happen to know what the reading was? Anything OVER 2 and in some cases 1.5 is considered low by what we call TOP DOCS and needs treatment. A better test is FT3 and FT4. F=free or unbound and is a more reliable test for what is free and usable by the body. They should be in the upper 2/3 of their ranges or higher. Another test is the basal temp. Shake down a thermometer and put it by the bed at night. Before getting up in the morning, hold it under your arm for 10 minutes. below 97.4 I believe is low. About.com has WONDERFUL thyroid info and a listing of Top Docs. There are several good books, and a couple of wonderful support groups. Thyroid is one of them. You can SELF TEST fro healtcheckusa.com They have a Thyroid Panel 2 for under $100 if I remember correctly. You can also do a search for the Broda foundation where for $15 you can get a ton of info along with a listing of doctors who prescribe Armour. His book was a very educational read. He passed away in my county BTW and was friends with a chiropractor (since retired) that my massage therapist knows.. Carol B --------------------------------- Yahoo!
