Hi Cheryl,

It would be helpful to know where you are. I'm in Berkeley, and there is a chain

called Whole Foods, as well as another place called Berkeley Bowl. For proteins,

if no one else has told you, go to www.vitalady.com and get samples there.

Samples are a couple of bucks for around 30 grams of protein. The exact amount

of powder varies to get to that amount. Get in the habit of mixing them with

just water, NO MILK!

Hope that helps a bit!

Dairy milk is not a "no-no" unless you are lactose intolerant.

Yes, it has carbohydrates in it, but it has lots of protein too. Also,

our body does need carbohydrates like those found in milk (dairy

or soy), beans, fruits and veggies. Just my 2 cents . . .

Say Eleanor,

I drink soy milk, have for a couple years, and I haven't seen that

mentioned yet. Is that a no no like the cow dairy? Could I mix this vitalady

stuff with it?

I LOVE Whole Foods by the way. That place is the B E S T!

Take care,

Hoepfully I get the call from my PCP today to get hoops lined up to

Well, that of course is a decision you have to make for yourself. Check the

label, and take a close look at what it adds in the way of protein, vitamins,

calcium, whatever, and weigh that against the calories, sugar, etc. Is it a

trigger food for you? By the I mean, does it trigger cravings for things that

aren't so good for you? That's the sort of question that only you can answer.

Yes, you probably could mix the proteins from vitalady with soy milk. I

personally wouldn't, but then, soy gives me HORRENDOUS gas. If you ever saw the

movie Blazing Saddles, the campfire scene comes close to portraying the problem!

I admit, I haven't been that impressed with the local Whole Foods, but then I'm

not one of those who figures that anything organic is good, and anything that

isn't is evil.

Did your doc call?
