Guest guest
I was just wondering if any post-ops are taking any kind of birth control. Alot of my weight problems was contributed to my hormones and how my body reacted to birth control. 1st on the pill @ age 17 - immediate weight gain of up to 50 pounds (not on the scale of the usual 5 to 10 they warn you about). Than continued to escalate as in later years I was on Depo-provera. My doc says this form of birth control was like me banging my head against a brick wall in trying to lose weight. My body always thought it was pregnant on any form of birth control and would balloon past all side effect warnings. I am just past 6 months postop and have had now 5 regular cycles - 1st one was bad but all the others pretty much a breeze (3 days max) a few cravings but nothing I can't handle now with my " tool " ... Oh, how I love my tool - hasn't failed me yet. My situation is that my doctor's don't want me to use any form of birth control that has anything to do with hormones (tried the IUD - that was a diaster). So this leaves me with condoms. I am married with two children - I do want to have one more but not right now in my virgin state of surgery where I will retain the best results. I just don't want to jeopardize my journey by getting pregnant at this moment. I am actually scared to death of the prospect even though I would love to have another child - (I have two boys and would love to have a girl).... I know this is pretty personal but any information anyone would be willing to share would be greatly appreciated. Sorry to all the guys... 4/29/03 350/216/
