Thats wonderful news !! thanks for sharing

Shell

> I can't believe it happened so fast. My doctor referred me on

January 30th, I had my appointment with the nutritionist and

behavioral medicine specialist on March 8th and 21 days letter they

wrote the letter saying I'm approved! I got it yesterday and I was

so nervous I could barely open the letter to read it. I don't have

my orientation date yet, but I'm so glad the waiting is over just to

find out if I've been approved. It just seems to have been so quick-

-but maybe the real wait has just begun! Anyway, it's the best news

I've had in a long time and I just wanted to share it with everyone.

Allright Chris! Isn't is awesome! Things will move quickly now.

I still remember holding that letter, shaking, so nervous thoughts

just running wild and looking for that word: " approved "

I think I screamed I know I cried, if I was ever prone to a heart

failure it would have happened right then and there, it jumped right

up into my throat and it was hard to breathe!

If I'm not mistaken you are in Sac area? Will you be going to

Richmond? They are stepping up the number of surgeries per week last

I heard. Keep us all informed of your dates Chris!-Vickie

Actually, I'm going to be in South San Francisco. My friend was

really surprised because we met at the same group appointment, our

letters were dated the same day and arrived in the mail the same day

but she's in Richmond and I'm in South San Francisco. I'm not going

to say I'm disappointed because I was hoping for Dr. Baggs, but now I

want info on some of the surgeons in SSF and the program there. I

don't have any appointment dates yet, but I'll certainly keep you

informed.

Congratulations Chris! That was quick. I know some people that have had surgery 6 mos after starting the process. I started last Aug. Today I woke up and had lost 1 1/2 pounds, so I officially have my 10% weight off for surgery. Yea! You'll be there soon too.

Hi Congrats on getting your approval. That is one of the biggest hurdles we need to clear on this journey. I remember when I got my approval letter - I was just bursting at the seams wanting to call and tell everybody.Hope you get your orientation appointment soon. You might to check in on the Kaiser web page occasionally for your appointments - it seems that quite a few folks have been finding out out their appointments faster that way than waiting for the snail-mailed notice. All the best,Kayopen RNY 12/1/03chris lopez wrote:

Dr. Baggs is my surgeon, but no surgery date yet. I have an appt with the case mgr next Thurs and see Dr. Baggs 2 weeks after that. He will probably send me to a cardiologist though first because my EKG came back bad. Such a waiting game. But I have learned so much from this group that I feel the wait has really helped me prepare.
