Guest guest
DMSA doesn't cross the blood brain barrier to any clinical degree. ALA crosses the blood brain barrier and is able to clear mercury from the brain. DMSA only chelates extracellular mercury ALA chelates both extracellular and intracellular mercury. DMSA is used early on in treatment to try and lower the blood/body levels more before adding ALA, due to ALA's ability to go into the brain. So you don't want more mercury ending up in the brain from using ALA too early. DMSA is mainly used early on to lower the blood levels. ALA chelates both brain and body/organs, but it's just safer to use DMSA to get the blood levels down a little more. HOpe that helps. > > I'd like to ad a question----what does dmsa do that ala doesn't? Sorry if this is obvious. > > >
