Guest guest
Sharon, go back and reread my post to Ron. In no way did it downplay the importance of a chair. What I said to him is that - I hope that that is along ways off for me (in essence)-- not that he'd done anything bad by using the store's chair. Hugs, Tracie

Guest guest
We were just talking in general. For right now the Vicoden is OK. I am only seeing him for my Narcolepsy. He knows there are others but if Morphine is used I cannot use it at all, only a derivative. Sharon Sharon I hope that when the pain killer you are on stops working (and after awhile it will just because your body builds up a tolerance to pain medication) that you will consult someone who may know a little more about pain control. If your specialist is saying there is only one med for sarc then he is limited in his knowledge as a pain specialist. Pain specialists are required to know what pain meds will help for whatever condition you have or*** to work with you until you find the right combination of meds to control your pain. And the pain specialists Ive consulted with have been very accommodating in working with various drugs to help control my pain when one no longer works. Be weller my friend.Shar> The pain management doctor around here I was talking to is also my> Narcolepsy doctor and he said he would only recommend my type of pain killer> and relaxation tapes. Guest guest
Sharon, Just another tidbit-- my employer mandates that as soon as I become eligible for Medicare I must enroll. They pay the monthly premium, and my deductibles, plus provide the supplement --so my United Healthcare becomes secondary to Medicare. If I don't enroll, then United Healthcare can only be held responsible for the COPAY (20%) of Medicare allowable on all procedures and office visits. It is so important to know what the company requires (where you husband is employed) and what options they have for employees once they become Medicare eligible. Since our social security system is now set up for the "normal" worker to not retire until age 72 to pull full benefits, many of us baby boomers are still in the work force from 65 -72 years old. The games a changing. Tracie
Guest guest
His Mom is pushing it since the company pays for it all. We have the highest bill. I was wondering if Marilyn my SS lawyer could advise me or if I should talk to a different lawyer. I was hoping to leave him the first of the year any way. Things are not good nor great. I have my own checking account already and my checks are direct deposited. Sharon Sharon You do not have to sign up for Medicare as long as you have other insurance. I would advise you not to waste the money paying for Medicare as long as you have his insurance. You can sign up for Medicare at any time your coverage ends.In fact in the event he is planning to dump you, you need to do the following things.Put your SS money in a separate account that he cannot touch. Leave the bills for him to pay and do what you can to squirrel more money away into your account. If your husband drops you from his insurance get a lawyer immediately. Most state laws rule that a spouse may not be removed from insurance or pensions without the spouses consent. If your husband separates from you again get a lawyer immediately. Guest guest
Sweetie you are better off contacting a divorce lawyer, one who specializes in alimony and disabled spouses. Remember good lawyers specialize. Marily specializes in Social Security law to win for you. She cannot know all the ins and outs necessary to get what you deserve from your husband. However, she may be able to recommend someone. It could be to your benefit to call her and see if there is anyone she knows (and say this to her) " who is as good a specialist is women and divorce as she is in Social Security " . This will acknowlede her expertise and encourage her to think of someone she knows that is as good as she is. Good luck. Shar

Guest guest
Sharon if you are going to leave him, get a good divorce lawyer, your SS lawyer is NOT the way to go, they all specialize in things, and a SS lawyer may know nothing about divorce and lead you the wrong way. A good divorce lawyer is worth every penny spent in the long run. In fact he could be made to keep you on his insurance for X amount of time after the divorce. Tell his mother to keep her nose out of it. Sharon you need to look out for YOU. Hope this is helpful. Marla Re: Sharon His Mom is pushing it since the company pays for it all. Guest guest
Sweetie as long as the reason you dont start your Medicare is because you already have insurance it does not cost double to get on it. It should have explained this in the Medicare information. As long as you decline because of insurance you are able to get on Medicare at any time at whatever the rate is being paid by new subscribers at that time. If the sarc will allow you to understand what you are reading it is clearly stated in the Rules of Medicare booklet that comes with the initial paperwork about your eligibility for RSDI. Please dont let this confuse you. You have the opportunity to sign up at any time at the lowest price available if your initial refusal was based on you being covered by insurance. Shar. I am eager to hear what my cardiologist says about his discussion with him. I am hoping to hear from the cardiologist tomorrow or Friday. On the other hand, I don't want to hear what he has to say if it involves steroids. I guess I will do what I have to do. The conference is coming up soon! I am hoping I rally a little before then. The irritable heart beats are gone for now with resting, so I am hoping they stay gone! Talk to ya' later!

I know how difficult it is to see light at the end of the tunnel. Is there a law school somewhere nearby--sometimes they will have free legal aid for students needing hours. (I know I'm not making sense tonight--I hope you can understand this.) I know that we have several groups locally that we can access. You might want to call a local attorney's office and see if they know of any programs available to you. I'll try to look online tomorrow and see if I can pull up anything. Guest guest
I would not have been in the shape I am in had I not fallen and busted my back twice. I would still be working. Sharon, I so totally understand. The fibromyalgia started because of a lifting/twisting injury to my back, tearing all the muscles and ligaments in my back. I got pregnant with my son 2 months later, and spent the next 5 1/2 months down in bed because of placenta previa. We didn't have a clue how seriously I'd injured my back until about 3 years later when my muscles returned to "normal". Now, the muscles and ligaments are adhered to each other, instead of my spine where they belong. So, I have no structural support to my spine and need to see my DC a couple of times each week to just keep things kindof aligned. Workers comp rehabed me into secretarial work- which is the second hardest thing we can do to our backs- sitting all day-- (Standing and bending from the waist down is the next worse), as it puts the most pressure on the disks. Chronic acute pain, and an addiction to pain meds was the beginning of my journey to hell. It took 17 years for Kmart to finally settle my "life-time" (in wc that means 7 years) mdical award. It was a $37,000 settlement, which only paid off the existing bills and we did use 20k for a down pmt on our home. Amazing that that amount of money lasted only 3 years between needing weekly psychotherapy to deal with the Post traumatic stress caused by having my life under a microscope for 17 years. (KM actually had a Private investigator take pictures of me lifting my infant son from the backseat of our car- (he was 9 mo old) and telling a judge that if I could do that I obviously wasn't injured.) The judge actually told him to get his head out of his ass- obviously this was an infant child, not a 7 year old. To top it off, it was August and 117 degrees outside the day he took that picture-- yep, at good time to leave an infant in a car--not. and I also experienced the same pi with his camera in our bedroom window taking pictures of us making love-- if we could have gotten the gun out of the closet in time--he'd been dead. Anyway, reliving this isn't healthy- but is a real part of my history. I know that it is so hard to have these demons test our integrity, our pride, our privacy. They are real, but to continue to carry the hatred that comes up is not worth the energy. Especially since we all know that our energy is so limited. And this is where the need to be compassionate with ourselves, as well as send compassion to all the others who are experincing the same pain comes in. It is that way that we begin to heal-- maybe not physically, but definately spiritually. In our path to a better life, so much of our healing will be of our spirit. With true compassion, Tracie
Guest guest
Sharon, How so, explain so we can help. What is worse today? BTW, where in Ohio are you? That way I can get more specific info. Tracie
Guest guest
I am keeping record of all I am doing so I can ask for reimbursement. Sharon, sometimes this is the best we can do. Have you been out long enough for Medicare to kick in-- I know it's generally a 2 year process from when we first are granted SSI--duh-- you're in the process of that right now-- I'm quick tonight. --not. So what does Ohio have in the way of Medi-caid? In Calif. it's Medi-Cal if you're under 18, CMSP if you're between 18 -62, and Medi-Medi (Medicare, MediCal) once you qualify for Medicare or are over 62. Go figure. Guest guest
I live in the worst county possible Champaign. only 12 miles from our county seat. the insurance bill that takes care of all our medical expenses was canceled as of August this year. I then found out that the hospital screwed up two insurance accounts and made them one. I got that mess taken care of. So the hospital has to call back all they sent this law firm about my hospital bill. Also the insurance still isn't any good because of non payment. Well they got the payment, but they needed 100.00 reinstatement check. They got that, but it has not been posted yet. I need meds and this is my secondary insurance now. I wrote a check on my account about a year ago with Jerry promising that he would put money in my account to cover that check. He never did. I had to clear my name up with a check for over 100.00 that the dope only needed to put 96.43 in my account to start with. I am keeping record of all I am doing so I can ask for reimbursement. Guest guest
Latest development. found out that the holes that were drilled on each side of Jerry's head when he was ten years old was not the for runner of the CT scan as I was told, but to control rage. The next step would have been a lobotomy. First lie. So now where does this fit into me being married. I called my doctor and she has a triage nurse and she told me where I should be seen I went. When I left I felt so much better because even this councilor knew that what Jerry had done to him was not pictures taken of the brain but to control his rage. The wife is the last to know. I was also given the phone number of the legal aid for my county. They even had a hard time finding it. What does that tell you. I am also going to contact my ADA people but Ohio does not really have an advocacy group. So I will have to call them in general and keep going through channels. All this happened today along with getting my van fixed which I paid for instead of Jerry, to the tune of $577.72 for a stupid mother board or the equivalent of for the van's computers to communicate.
