Guest guest
Hi Everyone out there in Fibroland/Fatigueland (I have both).. <g> I will sign the petition for sure... I am also writing to Oprah herself. If you wish to write her as well it is http://www.oprah.com. You see I have a hand autographed pix of Oprah from July 17,1987 when she had gone national. I also have a hand written letter from her as well. I have it in a clear frame and it has been on my coffee table between my couch and chair ever since. I was offered $1,500 for it and refused. My collection is just for my enjoyment not as a money maker, which online there are a lot who buy and sell them. I watched one of her shows last week which was something about weight. I missed the first half of the show, and anyway the Dr and Oprah had a lady in tears and never offered any word of comfort, they just kept tearing her down. I couldn't believe what I was seeing! Of course Oprah's weight was not discussed and she looks like she has gained back every pound she lost. Oprah used to always and I mean always hug whoever was in the audience and upset after sharing her life on camera. I believe Oprah has lost her humility and humbleness which got her where she is today. She has made it clear on her show she " no longer signs autographs " . All the autographs she has signed in the past got her to where she is now. I believe she has forgotten that over the years and the money has changed her. She went up fast and she can go down even faster. I am a personal artist manager and one thing I insist on is those autograph sessions. It means a lot to a fan to have a signed pix. I think she needs to go back and spend some time with her Dad in Nashville who is a preacher... she needs a boot in her britches to bring her back down to reality. Too much fame and too much $ can change anyone, but she had always kept her kind heart until now. Maybe she should just cancel her contract and stop the show because she doesn't seem to care about subjects etc anymore. These shows on not breathing properly are just crap!!! I was born with many health challenges, so does this mean I didn't breath right prior to birth or my Mum didn't breath right while she was carrying me? This is just ridiculous to me! Being stressed does wear us down yes, but it does not bring on fibro, chronic fatigue, lupus etc. It is NOT our fault we have these conditions!!!! They are trying to blame something on what are called " orphan diseases " , which are on the bottom of the pole for funding and research. You can bet your bottom dollar tho, if Oprah got any of these things there she would be on tv and the research money would pour in. She should do something positive to help raise money not upset a lot of people who suffer daily with things there is no cure or magic medicine to make us better. She has no clue what it is like for us I am sure. Maybe she should do a show where she must live our life for a day or two and then see what she has to say..... just don't know anymore. -( Angel Hugs+Love aka Spark

Guest guest
I was watching the Oprah show yesterday. I would suggest that this lady " pay attention to her spirit, " cause she really has put back on her hippo hips. If I could afford what she can, my spirit would be even happier than it is now. IMHO, people who have unlimited $ resources and still can't get it right, have a very serious problem. I'm been nasty like this cause I too was offended by her comments. FMS is nothing to joke about or put others down with. Guess Karma kind of gets those of us who think we are " above it all " by judging others. I'm not wishing harm to anyone, but would always, of course, want to defend an fms sufferer. If I have offended any of our list members, I'll say sorry. regards, vicki
