Guest guest
I also have Dr. Baggs he is very good there is a whole write up about him on www.obesityhelp.com. He specializes in lap surgery. Once you meet him normally he tells you how much you have to lose and once your 5lbs from goal they schedule your surgery date. So that part is up to you. I will be having lap and he told me that people who carry most of there weight around the stomach normally donot get lap. He said that most men have to have open. So once he examine you he will let you know which one you are a canadate for. I hope this information is helpful to you Azizajenkins@... dgjen2000 " wrote: > I have my orentation appointment on april 15 and my appointment with >my doctor on may 7. Guest guest
Hi . . . (sorry, I don't know your name) Dr. Baggs was my surgeon. I think that he is wonderful . . . knowledgeable, skilled and supportive. I seem to recall that he has done over 200 of these surgeries. I do know that before he came to Kaiser that Br. Baggs worked with Dr. Wetter over at Mills Peninsula. Before Kaiser had their own in-house bariatric programs, they used to contract out to Dr. Wetter, among others. Everyone with whom I have spoken who has been a patient of Dr. Baggs speaks highly of him - that includes a couple of folks that were his patients before he came to Kaiser. How quickly you can get scheduled depends a lot on how fast you can lose that 10%. I can't really answer your timing questions because it seems that it seems that in the few short months since my surgery that the timing of a lot things may have changed. Kaiser Richmond is doing more WLS now, but they also have more people applying for them. I am so happy for you. Your orientation and surgeon consultation appointment are very near . . . you are really on your way! All the best, Kay open RNY 12/1/03 dgjen2000 wrote: > I have my orentation appointment on april 15 and my appointment with > my doctor on may 7. Guest guest
After you meet with Dr. Baggs you will need an appt with your case mgr. She will also set up a pre-op class for you. If you are dwithin 5 lbs when you meet with her, she will schedule another appt with Dr. Baggs and possibly give you a surgery date. It seems like the dates are running about 5 to 6 weeks from scheduling. You could be looking at surgery in June. I am pre-op and Dr. Baggs will be my surgeon, I have been very impressed with him. Hope this helps. Caroldgjen2000 wrote: I have my orentation appointment on april 15 and my appointment with my doctor on may 7.
