Guest guest
n Here are a couple of websites on magnesium that I found through the Bartter's email list. Also I list the 3 types of magnesium that I take . I take different ones for differnt things at different times. Remember to talk to your doctor before changing any meds. http://magnesiumresearchlab.com/patient_education.asp http://magnesiumresearchlab.com/Mg_Suppl_6-2-04.htm this page in particular on this site has information on the different types of Magnesium. Dr. Herbert C. Mansmann Jr. is a magnesium researcher and is a member of my barttersyndrome email group. Most forms of Magnesium need to have at least l00 calory snack taken with it to absorb. I take MagTabSr it is a l2 hour sustained-release tablet. My local Graves pharmacy can order it for me. It is over the counter 1) MagTabSR 84 mg of Mg in sustained-released tablet http://www.niche-inc.com/niche/magtab.html 2) Maginex 61 mg of Mg in tablet , I also take this type of mag. Also my pharmacy at Graves can order this for me it is also over the counter 3) Magonate 27 mg of Mg in tablet (also available in liquid) http://www.medichest.com/Magonate.html Can also have pharmacy order, over the counter. I keep this one on hand for those times when I have the flu and am throwing up or having the runs. Or when I am trying to loose weight and don't want the extra snacks to take maginex. It is the one formula of Magnesuim that can be taken on an empty stomach. It uses the glucose uptakes for absorption. I also use this one when I am getting a migrane headache. Though since I got my magnesium levels back up I rarely get migranes any more. There is a lot of good information on magnesium and potassium on the home page of the barrter's email home page. Just keep in mind that those of us that have one of these kidney disorders take larger amounts of magesium than people who do not waste magesium do.
