Guest guest
Ann, I grew up in this area (1940 to present) and love the sonian (and National Zoo). We do live in a multi-cultural area, I have on my street (16 houses) one Afro American, one Vietnam, one Bangladesh, one Iranian, one Chinese, one Guatemalan, one Lebanese and two families from El Salvador. One of the women from El Salvador has come over a couple of times to help when I was in the hospital. The good part of living here is the access to all the Museums and the history (as well as lots of jobs). I have been all over the US and the only other museum I liked as well was the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn, MI. New York has a great Museum of Natural History, but you can't walk across the mall and go into the Air and Space or American History, as well as all the others. St. Louis and San Diego both have great Zoo's, but I lived on the hill above our Zoo in 1940 and mom took me almost every day. My kids and grandkids know both the Zoo and sonian like the back of their hands. In addition, the Atlantic coast is only about 150 miles and the mountains are only about an hour away. I've never made it to Minnesota, the closest was the Straits of Mackinac. Take care, Bill and Charlotte

Guest guest
Sheila, I graduated from Bladensburg High (land) in the fifties, and they are going to tear it down this summer. Was that Washington-Lee? Warren Beatty and Shirley McLaine also graduated from Arlington, VA schools. Goldie Hawn was a land or DC graduate. I only went to the Library of Congress twice. Did you ride the streetcars to get there? Remember Glen Echo and Marshall Hall? Topps? Little Tavern Shoppes? The Capital and RKO s theatres? I asked Charlotte to marry me on Hains Point (under the cherry blossoms). Take care, Bill and Charlotte sheila coutant wrote: > Bill - > I graduated from HS in Arlington VA in the '50s ... and used the Library of > Congress for my library ... > > what a shock when I went to college .... lack of resources big time ;-] > > cheers > sheila > >
Guest guest
. I would think he would attend Woodburn High School, but I could be wrong. I worked with a bunch of technology students from Woodburn on a project at the Air and Space Museum during Engineer's Week a few years ago. I've never worked with Fairfax High at all. He stays with my mother during the school year.. This was his idea, but we both agreed on it.. I think though he will be attending a Fairfax High School. He has peaked an interest in switching schools since he likes Fairfax so much,, and we miss each other when he is away at school. I was reading only 800 people live in middleburg.. It is a small town but very lovely.. I do like where we live also.. I dont think we will ever move from here unless Jack is tranferred out of state. I was in the high school during the summer, it is in bad needs of repair. They have a fund started for this.
