Guest guest
I went to the doctor this am for the red dots on my feet and shins. He switched me from PTU to Tapazole. I had the RAI about a month ago and went on PTU a few days later. I was in bad shape and the Dr. was afraid of thyroid storm so he felt the PTU was needed. The main thing to look for in thyroid storm is fever and vomiting along with severe hyper symptoms. He checked me today, my reflexes, etc and said I am still very hyper. My puffy eyes are from the GD, he said it is edema. He said I am not " the norm " as I am still in such bad shape and I have every symptom listed for hyperthyroidism except my fingernails are fine. He said it is highly unusual for a person to be this bad after RAI and the PTU. I asked him to take a guess at how much longer I will be like this and he said probably three months. I didn't ask if he was counting the past month or not. I know I will get through this but it sure is hell in the meantime. You all are a blessing, he told me I was more up on this GD then he is LOL Laurie
