Guest guest
Wow- I'm so glad she's doing well so quickly. Aubrie also had a coarc repair at 8 days old. You guys have got me scared. She gets a full check every year, but I really have never considered that anything could go wrong. I guess I'll take it more seriously now. At least if she requires surgery at some point, it's great to know that it could go so smoothly. I hope you are both back home and back to " normal " very soon! Michele W mom to Aubrie 6 yrs surgery 's surgery finally took place on Monday, the 22nd. She is recovering " as expected " and the surgery " went well " according to the doctors. They reconstructed her aortic arch, as her aorta was constricted to .3 cm where it should have been 1 cm...she is tolerating everything in her usual, matter of fact way. Most people I know would be whining and carrying on about the pain, but not ...typical CHARGEr, huh? Could come home as early as Sunday if we can get her to tolerate her feedings better. kginn Membership of this email support groups does not constitute membership in the CHARGE Syndrome Foundation. Guest guest
Glad all is going well. I agree, CHARGErs seem to do so well. Our never whined or complained much. I will never forget her at age 6 yrs. in PICU. She woke up from her open heart ASD repair. I looked at her and ask, " How are you? " This tiny weak voice said, " I'm fine. " At that moment she was doing better than I was. Continued prayers for recovery. Lynn Ohio Re: surgery Great to hear that did good with the surgery.
