Richmond's orientation

Hi folks,

I went to Richmond's orientation class this morning. Did any one else

go to the 7am class? It was very interesting, and didn't give me a lot

of new information about the surgery but it did fill in some answers

about the vitamins and the 'after care' of your new tummy.

I meet with the nutrienalist next week to see how we can tweak the

1200-calorie diet for me. I am having problems eating all the dairy

and I am a vegetarian too.

Well I am encouraged. I've lost 9.5 pounds of the 31 I need to before

I can be scheduled for surgery.

It's becoming a reality for me and I had a moment of anxiety this

morning - " Is this really going to happen? How on Earth am I going to

this and cope? What am I thinking??? "

I answered myself easily; yes it will happen because I will make it

happen. Yes, you will do what you need to do and failure is not an

option. You are thinking that with your genetics of longevity, living

to 100 or more is more than likely once the weight comes off.

Thanks for the venting time :-)

I had my consult with Dr Baggs on December 11 2003 and I was scheduled

for the orientation then. I filled nothing out until yesterday at

the orientation. I also received the Patient Information Binder. It

is the same binder that is on the Richmond Bariatric web page in pdf

format.

If you haven't gone to your consult yet, start writing down every

question that pops up, no matter how silly it may seems, to ask at

your consult and/or the orientation. I found by doing this I had a

lot of 'fears' calmed. Also, I wrote down the questions I couldn't

answer that friends and family asked me. Good luck!

On another note, I am thinking of joining Curves this weekend.

Anyone have comments?
