I don't really feel too nervous yet. Perhaps when I am at the airport alone I will get the gitters then. I am checking my list twice to make sure I don't forget anything....oh well if I do. I wish everyone a very happy new year and will write when I get back to Sacramento.ShirleyDr. 12-30-03 at 1:00 p.m.286/
Guest guest
Hello everyone....this is Shirley. I had my surgery on December 30, 2003 with Dr. . Actually it wasn't bad at all.....I was out in surgery it seemed quickly and also out of recovery quick. Had a little problem staying awake at first but then they got me up walking. The nurses were great and Dr. is wonderful. I had a little bit of a complication on Friday the day I was hoping to go to the hotel. It seems I was a little anemic and I had to have some blood. I was unhappy to see my fellows surgery patients leaving on Friday and Saturday for the hotel. Everything turned out fine and on Monday morning Dr. released me to hotel. I finally flew home yesterday, January 6th. Spent the night in our recliner. It was great to be home. Today I had my niece come pick me up and off to Wal-Mart we went. I think I walked for over an hour and a half. I am just having trouble getting all of my liquids in. Before surgery I could drink 32 oz. water thru most of morning. Now lucky to get 8 down. Just feels full all the time. Drinking my unjury protein with crystal lite and really it tastes good. Funny, when I was leaving my doctor's appointment yesterday, Dr. gave me a kiss and hug and told me that I was a fun patient and she knew I would do real good. I really enjoyed having her for a doctor. Well my son should be home from school here shortly and I want to spend some time with him. Thank you to everyone for all the good wishes and prayers. They certainly all helped. Shirley 12-30-03 286/280/
Guest guest
Kay....Thank you ........I ventured out yesterday to attend my son's high school basketball game. I was there a couple of hours and did good. Several people came up to me to see where I have been since I am pretty active at my son's high school. One person was a nurse who I thought was very against this surgery and I finally told her I had it. She said that I looked really good for only 10 days out. Another mom wants to talk to me about having it done and what to do. I do still feel pretty good. Waiting for my niece to come pick me up so we can run some errands and of course go walking thru Wal-Mart again. Now that can be dangerous. I hope everyone else's day is going great and all on the losing side. Shirley Dr. 12-30-03 280/277/
