Guest guest
I attended Kasier orientation class in SSF this morning. Was very imformative. They pretty much spelled out the process. I will know more after I meet with the internist you have to see. She will evaluate me to see if I have any medical issues before she will clear me for surgery. I don't think there will be. Of couse, now the 10% weight loss begins. Anything lost up until this point does NOT count towards the 10%. Once you lose 10% you can schedule surgery. They had some post-ops talk about experiences today. I was helpful to actully see these people in person. One man got in on a cancellation and his surgery was 1 month after orientation, so I could go quickly for some. Although average looks like it might take 3-4 months to surgery. I was surprised by the number of people in the group. About 70 total. It's taken nearly 5 months to get to this point. Time sure has gone by quickly. Best wishes to everyone! -shane
Guest guest
Hi Shane, I am going to do the orientation, if it is the same thing, Jan 22. I am led to understand we spend a half hour learning about the surgery and then meet for 1 1/2 hours with a nutritionist doc who explains further items and takes questions. Does this sound like the same thing? Did they mention a nutrition class or a certain amount of time with surpervised dieting? What happens after you see the internist and lose the 10%? Have you seen the internist yet? How did that go? What was discussed? I am in southern CA and realize the protocol maybe different than the bay area but any thing you can tell me can help.
