Guest guest
Carol, Salt tablets are no - no's for anyone who has the possibility of an ulcer. Take a piece of liver and set a salt pill on it for 15 minutes. You can get the same amount of sodium from a cup of boullion with much less chance of it sitting in your stomach and burning away for the 15 minutes or so that it takes to dissolve. Beef boullion is around 1000 mg and chicken boullion is 800-900 mg. Charlotte likes the chicken better. Also you can get a huge amount in food if you use a salt shaker. Two - three shakes of a salt shaker is about 1/4 teaspoon of salt or about 590 mg. Using canned foods also helps, a can of s vegetarian vegetable soup has over 2100 mg of sodium (and is close to the 7 to 1 ratio of cabohydrates to protein suggested for Sinemet users). Take care, Bill and Charlotte
