Guest guest
Here we go again, Just 2 weeks after the flu...Mallory is sick again, started 2 days ago with pouring nose, yesterday and last night with terrible wheezing, chest caving in kind of breathing, fast heart rate, etc....so off to CF clinic we went today. Even the doc was more concerned than usual...because usually her wheezing isn't that bad during the day, too and she had lots of junk and crackles. Anyway, trying to see if we can do it at home...waiting on viral wash results to see if we're unlucky enough to get RSV even with the synagis and also to see if she has another strain of the flu.... Oh, and the doc took the time this time to point out the mucus plugs on the x-ray. Geez, don't be too shocked if I dont post for awhile, back to hourly nebs for awhile. as far as replies, who started the stupid questions thing? Anyway, don't worry...you gotta do what you gotta do..... our stupid story was when ron left all the iv meds at home to take the kids to school last winter when Mallory was in the hospital and had a femoral central line with a month of IV's. Anyway, why stupid? Because the hill in front of the house iced over while he took the other kiddos to school......then had diarheah in his pants on the way over to children's hosp to see us....he couldn't get up the hill to get 's iv meds or anything to change the dressing with, and the diarheah had run all over his pants too.....so there they end up at the hospital, too, in no pants with his central line hanging out of a runny poop diaper.....what a nightmare! Of course, the wonderful CF Nurse practitioner came to the rescue, got home health to bring up supplies and meds and she changed the dressing on his line (hey, poop is one thing you don't want to get all in the central line--which is why we went ballistic in the first place when they put the femoral line in instead of the picc we signed consent for.....) Oh well, lets learn from each other My dumbest (and ron's too) story is that for an entire year we fed a (our then 12 month old foster child) many many prunes convinced she was constipated because she had these solid poops....our mistake was that we were comparing her to , who we did not know had CF at the time. Take care you guys, back to nebs Jennie, mom of ph 7 months RAD, GERD (not tested yet CF); Mallory 2 with RAD, GERD, CF; 4 with CF; 5, Miranda 8, Brittany 7 yo foster daughter; a 3 yo foster daughter and aunt of 3 yo with Cf
