Hello everyone,

came home yesterday. He is still vomiting a little, but the surgeon

said that will settle down as the gastritis clears up. He is really grouchy (to

me that is a good sign). He is on a pureed diet, and he will be eating little

amounts of food all day long. He will see the surgeon again on Tuesday. Our

family doctor and I came to an understanding, and I explained to him that

sometimes will be an easy case and there may be times he will be an

extremely high maintenance patient. I have to say the nurses at the hospital

were

absolutely wonderful. was on an adult floor since the peds floor was full

and too much flu. We had a private room and they brought me in a cot to sleep

on. We are both settling in here at home. is much more relaxed and

slept uninterrupted for the first time last night. We were both wore out. He

got

a flu shot before he left the hospital since the doctors both said it would

be fine. was mad about that. He got sick right after we got home and I

think it was the ride home. We are having a lot of biting behaviors right now,

and I have his arms and hands wrapped in gauze and wash cloths and taped so

he can't bite the skin. We have a long road ahead of us yet, but we are on the

road to recovery. I am still keeping isolated because of the flu

season, and he's not able to yet handle any more. He has been up moving around

on

his own, walking from his bed to the recliner in the living room. I am worried

about him wanting to lay only on his right side. I am trying to keep him

from doing it too much, since he is so bony I don't want a pressure sore. We

are

working on getting more staffing in here to help me out, and I may lose my

job because the company I work for would not pay me to be at the hospital with

him, so I just didn't tell them he was there. Being a single parent I have to

have a paycheck. My stress level hit it's peak on the last IV stick to ,

I almost passed out trying to help the nurses. I have never done that before,

and I know it was from sheer exhaustion and a stress level that was entirely

too high. Well, needs me. Will keep you updated and thank you all.

HAPPY NEW YEAR !!!!!!
