Guest guest
Roy, you asked Lu or Jo, but this is how some of us make it. I put the sugar and tea bags in a gallon pitcher, pour about a quart, maybe less, of boiling water over it and stir the sugar gently to dissolve. Let steep about ten minutes or so, remove tea bags and add cold water. Add the ice later to your glass. You MUST add the sugar with the boiling water. Sweet tea usually is made with a good amount of sugar, but sweeten to your own taste. You can buy tea bags that are large and made especially for ice tea.
