Cream for itching

Hi Joann and thanks for your message. The cream I buy is from the Chinese doctors here in London and is called Pi Yan Ping Ruangao (I kid you not!). It comes in very small tubes and is expensive at £3 a tube (about $9). I have shown it to various conventional doctors who have barely glanced at it and shown no interest at all, apart from a Russian student doctor I met at St. ' once who was fascinated and wrote down the name and where I got it. She told me she thought there was menthol in it.

All I know is that it is the only cream I've tried that actually works and stops the itch for awhile anyway. It feels very cold when you put it on. One word of warning though - I read somewhere that a lot of the creams from Chinese herbalists etc contain steroids.

Therefore if you do get some use it very thinly and sparingly and only when really desperate. Take care, Carol
