Guest guest
You are a very wise man !!! I couldn't agree more with your positive attitude toward our growing numbers here. I hope your wife will be able to maintain the lower dose of Pred now that the stress of Christmas is over and she will have more better days than bad ones. I'm so glad your surgery went well also and thankful that you are cancer free now. I'm sure your plumbing problem will repair itself soon and I want to thank you for giving me a smile today with that summary. I needed it. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> 1 I understand the feeling of despair at the rising numbers joining the group but think we need to put it positively. Joining the group does not CREATE a new sufferer it merely brings it into the open. For the individual it diminishes the chance of misdiagnosis and mistreatment and offer the help and support of this excellent group. collectively it raises the awareness of doctors and researchers which can only increase the chances of a medical break through. ( my personal belief is that rp is more widely spread than the medics realize and that more cases are being flushed out by a better diagnosis and gtreater awareness) 2 Ann , my wife, who has rp is struggling a bit. She had a bad spell with breathing before Xmas which required the pred to be raised to 30 mg. she has got it back down to 17.5 but is having good and bad days. You may remember that before Xmas I was diagnosed with prostate cancer. On 13 Jan I had the whole prostate removed by surgery. The good news is that the cancer was confined to the prostate and the surgeon could find no trace elsewhere. so i think my prognosis is excellent and that I have been extremely lucky to have had an early and speedy diagnosis. The only problem, hopefully only interim is incontinence. A regular drip has taken on a whole new meaning. In the overall scale it is only a ' piddling ' little issue ( as we say in england ) best wishes Dawson
