Morning Gang....

I also experience itching... at first I thought it was one of my many

allergies but it continued even after taking my antihistamines. I wonder if

the itching is partly due to stress and nerves. I know the more stressed I

am the worse the fibro pain gets.

Also, weather changes are wicked on me. The forcast in Vancouver, BC, Canada

is for bitter cold and a possibility of snow. It is supposed to go into the

low teens by Sunday night. We use the celcius temps and I am not sure what

it would be - metric stuff is all Greek to me.

I also get a burning pain under my skin which nothing seems to help remove

it. Not sure what causes that but it is annoying. I also have limb

twitching when I lay down. At first it would wake me up and I guess I am

just used to it now. I have even had severe twitches which lifted my entire

body off the couch.

My worst spots for pain are my knees, back of neck, across shoulder blades,

hips and my lumbar/SI joints and so I have to sleep on my sides. I have

moved to the couch which reduces the tossing and turning. I cannot sleep on

my back without waking up in tears. I am thinking of getting a body pillow

to put behind me so I cannot roll onto my back.

Went to the rheumy on Nov 21st and we are still waiting for her to send my

family Dr a report. The specialist wants to change me from Percocet to

Morphine 2x/day, but my GP(family doc) wants to wait and see what the

specialist says before we make the switch.

Well, guess I should get off the soap box for now... welcome to our group

and I hope you enjoy your stay.

Hi,

I have itching, not sure if it is FM or not, but I would assume that my skin

is dry due to the meds I take. I constantly use my back scratcher and cream

or make it soft and less dry.

Hi Debbie,

Good for you for thinking about that! I forgot that that could be a reason,

even though I have had a reaction 2-3 times, FM what a brain! Thanks for

mentioning it.

How is the wedding planning going?

Sending Comfort and Peace

Debbie,

Hi! I am glad that you can slow down with the wedding planning and all. I

am sure it will be a great time and your daughter will appreciate all you

have done for her.

That is great about the shower. Who did she get the microwave from? That

does sound like a huge shower gift. Maybe she will get a refridge for her

wedding present!

I am doing ok, although I have not been sleeping lately. I can't fall asleep

at night, and stay up till 2 am till I am finally able to sleep. Then I feel

so tired the next day that I fall asleep during the day. I am not sure why?

I was thinking that maybe it was unconscious stress or something? Not sure,

but I hope that it goes away. I will be all messed up with sleep patterns.

They say that you need to get a routine.

Well, I will end. Thanks for writing.

Sending Comfort and Peace

I try not to nap because of what it does to my nighttime sleep, but sometimes it

can't be helped. Everything you said about the stages of sleep is so true!

About 6 months ago, I took a 4 hour nap in the afternoon (I know very bad and I

did suffer that night) but it was the first time I felt rested in years. It

didn't last long, but the feeling was amazing.

Re: new here

Janice,

Your sleeping problems might have something to do with stress, but it is

also a symptom of Fibromyalgia. Actually a doctor explained it to me like

this:

Most people (when they sleep) go into 4 stages of sleep. The last stage

is known as REM sleep. However, people with Fibro never quite make it into

that 4th and final REM stage

Amen and Amen. Thank you for your prayers and well wishes and may I

extend the same to you and your family as well.

I plan on taking a mental health day sometime next week. Tomorrow is

the rehearsal dinner, Friday is the wedding, the day after the kids will be

coming over here to open their gifts, the next day is Xmas eve with my

family about an hours drive away and the next day is Christmas and my

step-daughter and her 3 children will be coming over for that.

When all that is over, it's definitely mental health time.

I am looking forward to it immensely. Again, Have a wonderful holiday

season and May God Richly Bless You and Yours at this time and always.

With Love,

Debbie G.

Hi everybody, I'm new here and I'm trying to decide if the surgery

is what I want to do. It's an awful big committment to go through

but I'm an awful big person - too overweight, too many years, too

many diets, too many diet plans and weightloss clubs! I hope I can

find some good answers here.

Thanks,

Mills

Hi , I'm relatively new here, I'm in the same place you are,

trying to decide if this is what I want. I'm just like you, been

there done that on most diets, too overweight, and too many health

problems because of it. I have a referral from my doctor to the

surgeon to begin thinking about it. I have been reading here for a

couple of weeks, lots of nice people, and I'm sure you will get alot

of help from everyone here. Janice

Hi ,

Welcome to our group. Usually you wouldn't get personal email from anyone unless you give them your email address and ask them to email you. The replies are made to your comments and then usually go out to the group. It is a really great process because there are so many of us now that usually someone has the answer.
