Guest guest
Betty, There are none that I am aware of, but I would check with your granddaughter's SLP or OT possibly, they may be able to do a more specific search for you. Guest guest
For an update, Dr. Blake from IWK in Halifax was contacted by one of the Canadian parents who is working on trying to get this therapy established at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto. Dr. Blake verbally gave full support to the concept. However, in Toronto they are taken back by the lack of imperical research on this method, and probably would not approve it until there have been a number of studies conducted to support it's validity. As well, in Canada the OT's are not licenced for electrical stimulation therapy of any kind. However, there may be a therapist in the Toronto area(who is not an OT)interested in the training and this is presently being pursued.
