Guest guest
Busy, busy, busy.... Just wanted to drop in and update a little. Tomorrow I have an appointment with one of the Ped Orthos who originally consulted with us regarding Annika. He has followed her progress somewhat and this will be our 3rd (maybe 4th) visit to him following her cast removal in June of 1999. I was somewhat suprised that he actually responded to my call about making an appointment; but he did. Annika continues to do smashingly well. Her feet look awesome to me and we are approaching size 5 in the straigh-last shoes now. I had my 2nd ultrasound today ( I am 22 weeks along ) and they got a good look at the feet this time. Looks like we have STRAIGHT ONES!!! Yea!! I, of course, will not be able to be relieved of that until baby is born and I know for 'sure'. Also, looks like we will now have THREE little princesses in this house. Kirsten was a little disappointed that it's not a boy...but she's already prepared with a name for her little sister. Everything else with baby seems to check out just great and that is always a relief to hear. Also, the technician who did the U.S. was VERY interested to hear about Dr. Ponseti and I " JUST HAPPENED " to have the article from the Des Moines Register with Audilet's story (WHICH by the way is an AWESOME, AWESOME article!!!) The tech asked lots of questions and when the Perinatologist came in to do his thing, the tech said " Hey, Doc. you gotta check this guy out... " and went on to grab the paper from my hubby and expound how 'this guy' corrects club-foot " Non- Surgically AND he's 86! " and the Perinatologists response was " You're Kidding?! " He then asked a few questions (standard...why don't more doctors do it etc....) but, he was VERY receptive and asked to have the web address for the U of I and thankgoodness it was printed right there in the article. Was actually caught off guard that a doctor was actually interested...Ha! Well, I didn't have time to look over everything that's been happening with everyone but hope everyone is doing OK.
