Regarding the CONSTANT COMPLAINING post on the list serve; RIGHT ON. I

usually don't read the list serve anymore because it is one whine after

another. Hey people, its life! This is the hand that was dealt us, lets get

on with it and try to make the best of it we can.

I think I had a good idea of how to " stop them up " . I went to a local

hardware store and bought several sizes of cork stoppers (for ten cents

apiece). I now can put a " stopper " in any bottle I save for kt.. I try

to only save dark glass bottles.

Hi,

I posted a few days back about " how do people bottle the kombucha? " I am

saving a

bunch of bottles for brew and I asked: 1) how do you stop them up and 2) do

you

think I should use recycled bottles? I realize I am new here and that there

is much

going on with dental care and a possible poisoning with molded brew, etc....

I will be

patient, but really would love to hear some bottling advice when someone has

a

chance. Meanwhile good on you all.

I believe that it will take two weeks for the cork to pop out. I've had

several of the commercial quality hard plastic pop bottles that I bought to

pop out at the necks from the pressure. It was truly bizarre.

You could visit a wine shop and get the corks used for champagne and the

tool for compressing the corks and inserting them into the bottles. You

boil the corks to soften them before putting them in the tool. Personally,

I use the same screw on cap that came with the bottle. I haven't had one

explode, yet. I bottle them with little or no air at the top. In a month

the bottles have swollen up so much that there is about two inches of

airspace between the top of the bottle and the top of the kombucha. Now,

that really puts a head on the kombucha when it is poured.
