Guest guest
Dear Group, For my own information, what are the physical indications of liver problems? With Dr. Sinnott so far away, I want to be informed for myself. Also, have any of you ever taken MORE than one Thystlyn three times per day? Info greatly appreciated. Guest guest
, I have that your skin turns yellow with a malfunctioning liver. Also you are very tired and listless, but you couldn't Judge by that right now, when you are bound to feel that way. I can tell you are worried, though, so maybe you should get your liver function tested sooner than scheduled. Ann
Guest guest
Hi , I've had drug induced hepatitis now for the last two months and all my medications for RA have been stopped. The main indications I had were the liver function tests and off hand I can only remember that two of them were over the 100 mark. The only other thing I had was that my left thumb turned yellow - ha ha - but the doc said that didn't have anything to do with it because my bilirubin readings were normal!!!! But I know it's liver My liver has been swelling up and down (I know this because sometimes it has come out further than my boobs, and it's painful exactly where I thought I had an ulcer (but it was liver) and my weight went haywire - up, down, sideways, you name it, I just didn't know where I was with it!! My doc said it was very serious, but I don't feel serious, just tired - more than usual. I perspire like I was a thundercloud, drip, drip, drip and if it wasn't that sweat was so salty, I wouldn't ever have to shower!! Now he has given me three more weeks and if the levels still haven't come down then he will do a biopsy. The three drugs under suspicion are Gold injections, Losec for my tummy and the minocycline. But I found out a couple of things. The part of the word " itis " in arthritis, hepatitis etc just simply means 'inflammation'. LOL, my local doc said he wanted to have my RF and ESR done again and I said " Why? You know that the ESR will just show up the liver inflammation and more than likely the RF will also be affected by the hepatitis, so you're just going to get false readings on them! " He then replied " Well, so you really do know what you're talking about, don't you " and i just laughed, but he wants them anyway, so I thought I'd oblige - the blood place would go out of business if it wasn't for me!!!! Take care, Jude. rheumatic Liver symptoms > Dear Group, For my own information, what are the physical indications > of liver problems? Guest guest
Thans, Jude. I must be okay then. I am not sweating and my skin does not taste like salt that I am aware of. I was just thinking that the whites of my eyes did not look at white as I thought they should. Skin reveals nothing at all. And I am dog tired but that would be because I just finished the two weeks of clindy orally. When the liver swells up, where is the swelling. Upper right quadrant, upper left quadrant, lower right, lower left. Did your back hurt? I will be seeing Dr. Sinnott next month so am not too worried. In fact, I think your description as pretty much made me feel like I was looking for something not there as you do not describe me. I just continue to have the lower back and a little higher back pains (aches) and since stopping the clindy, the bladder/kidney tenderness have come running home. Sure would be great if that could be the first bug they eventually totally knock out. Have a great Monday..... but don't forget to answer the other questions! Guest guest
Hello Judith ! Just a note on your liver.... I had real abnormal liver enzymes a few years ago , which I believe were caused by breathing auto body paint fumes. At the time , I was working on a couple of classic cars in my spare time. Any how, I ended up with a liver biopsy and it really wasn't too bad. They stick a needle into your liver and draw out a piece of it via the needle. The only tricky part is knowing where to stick it so they miss any vitals. My doctor used an ultrasound to watch where he inserted the thing. My bet is it is the gold salts are causing your problem. Mino is mostly processed through the kidneys according to my doctor. rheumatic Liver symptoms > > > > Dear Group, For my own information, what are the physical indications > > of liver problems? Guest guest
Hi , LOL, when my liver seems to swell, it's in the soft tissue central immediately under the breasts - almost as if I'd had a massive meal (which I haven't - I've been off food a bit). Now, my back doesn't hurt at all (my neck does, a little, but that's the RA). I think you're better waiting until you see Dr. Sinnott - worrying never cured anything, it just makes things worse I think. In all, the sweating was the worst - my hair is dry today for the first time in ? It is usually wet at the back from the perspiration. You are so lucky to have such a great doctor! Wish he was over here in W. Australia, but I've got a couple of good ones as well. My RA seems to have subsided quite a lot. Apart from the usual morning stiffness and a little pain which goes away after I take my pills I'm usually pain free So I'm presuming that I'm still in remission with the RA. Take care, Jude. Guest guest
Hi there Dean, Thanks for your info, I don't feel all that frightened of the biopsy (that's if it happens). LOL, there are that many things that have happened to my poor old bod that a liver biopsy has to be one of the least worrisome. I'm just thinking now of the kids that breathe paint fumes for kicks.........no wonder they die!! It frightens me sometimes when I think of these kids - they are going to be our next generation of what????? Such a waste!! I, too, think it's the gold that's done the dirty deed. You see, I stopped the mino about 7 weeks ago now and I'm sure that if it was that, my bloods would have come down by now. I know that the gold stays in the system for around 6 months or so, and it's only been about 3 or 4 months since that was stopped. And as for the Losec, well I was only on that about a month, so I don't think it's that, but you never know! Anyway, when I finally find out the real culprit, I shall let you all in on it. Take care, Jude. rheumatic Liver symptoms > > > > > > > Dear Group, For my own information, what are the physical indications > > > of liver problems?
