little but it was ok.

Thanks, I hope I get some positive results from the resumes. It

would suck if I only get call backs from Limeridge mall. Thats a bit

far for me. I also hope McD's at least gives me a somewhat good

plug. Oh well, they might, but I bet my manager will go postal

again, lol. Might actualy be funny. (in a sad sort of way really)

Tomorrow I will do all the phoning stuff I couldnt do today. My feet

hurt so much I dont want to walk anyplace right now.

Oh Krista guess what, I rode the buss from Macmaster hospital and

took the number 10, (the one that goes down main st. from west to

east. Well, the buss driver didnt tell me when he would get to down

town (I asked him to tell me) and anyways guess where I ended up...

Queenston road, near Parkdale Stupid buss driver told me to get off

that it was my fault for missing my stop. Walked very quickly back

down town. Was a bit of a long walk but I did it. I did get down

town and went straight to the hamilton transit office to complain. I

got a few free bus tickets :)

I actualy think Central Hamilton looks worse then the east end. Then

again I didnt stand long enough to look down Kennilworth or Ottawa.

I did see some rather odd sights, lol, um wont share with the list

though! LOL

Chantelle:

getting only bits and pieces here as it is kids hockey playoffs and

report card season. How did your appointment with CNIB go?

Regarding your situation below, it may be an idea to travel with a

cane....NOT because you may need it for mobility but it WILL identify

you for situations like that below, and bus driver would NEVER have

forgotten to tell you to get off the bus. MANY low vision kids with

good mobility use cane just for ID marker for others to LOOK OUT for

you. You would be amazed at how it changes peoples reaction to you.

BTW...that WAS a LONG WALK!!! ALSO, your new glasses should be

covered under ADP, please find out about getting an appointment at

the Low Vision Clinic in Waterloo, also for your computer assessment

as your always talking about needing a new computer. You live out

there in the country, it may be nice for you to live near McMaster

University or Mohawk College where lots is accessible by bus route.

is coming next few weeks for K.'s surgery, so I'll pick you up

to visit at Sick Kids.

Ann, please tell me when KK's surgery is, I really want to visit

and KK.

THe cnib interview went well but my optamologist is being a shit and

not sending the right info to the cnib. I think I need to send them

the actual test results but they did a crap job of assessing my

visual field and it costs a few fingers. I will try my audiologist

again, I missplaced the phone number so I may just call the lab in

St. Joe's hospital.

I like the idea of the cane. I will ask Jane when I speak to her

again. I find it hard on busses to tell where i am especialy cause

the buss moves quickly, my reaction time is not always fast enough.

Also because im not recognized as dissabled I am told to sit farther

back to alow the elderly or dissabled to sit. I tell them I am

dissabled and glare at them the whole ride.

Talk to you later!

Oh one more thing, what is the phone number to the low vision

assesment in waterloo. I dont even know how I would get to waterloo.

Getting to hamilton is tricky enough. Brantford actualy once I get

to hamilton there is a wonderful bus durring the week in Mowhawk

campus that transports ppl to brantford campus. I asked if I could

use that survice and a student told me I could.

Chantelle,

We fly into Toronto on March 15th, Kennedy has appointments and pre-cath

stuff on the 16th, a cardiac catheterization on the 18th, pre-op day on the

22nd and open heart surgery on the 23rd. We will be there a minimum of 2

weeks post-op. We have a room at the Delta Chelsea in Toronto (right on

Gerrard Street).

Thanks Lynn, these next two surgeries will be #14 & #15 but they don't get

easier at all...especially when we didn't really expect this heart stuff to

pop up again. Always remember, expect the unexpected with these guys.

Nothing is unimportant with these kids. I just regret not having the time I

used to for participating on this list. I do still read everything and am

thinking of everyone, I just don't have the time for all the individual

I agree , the surgeries didn't get easier but made it through each

one. She was/is such a trooper. Looking back I now understand the " ignorance

is bliss " concept. With each of 's 27 surgeries/procedures I knew more and

worried more. We have been surgery free almost 5 years and it is wonderful.

has only had one sinus infection at college so far. She is tired much of

the time and has dropped two dance classes. It won't hurt because she is

changing to nursing next year. It isn't going to be easy but she is bound and

determined to become an RN. I have no doubt taht eventually she will succeed.

Blessings and Hugs to all CHARGE kids and their families what every they may

visual field and it costs a few fingers.

Re: for Chantelle especiallly

Ann, please tell me when KK's surgery is, I really want to visit

and KK.

THe cnib interview went well but my optamologist is being a shit and

not sending the right info to the cnib. I think I need to send them

the actual test results but they did a crap job of assessing my

visual field and it costs a few fingers. I will try my audiologist

again, I missplaced the phone number so I may just call the lab in

St. Joe's hospital.
