Hello I forgot to mention that because of my nasial surgery I am

unable to smell anything. The only things I can smell are Toxics,

Fumes, Chemicals, Acid, Gas, stuff that are harmful if you got

anywhere near them.

Sincerely yours; Krista Bach.

Ohhh yes I smell really strong stuff too. Do you find that when you

taste food though you seem to have so much taste like cookies or

mints?

Btw, what part of Hamilton are you? Im in rural Hamilton/wentworth.

Gotta love that silly welcome to hamilton sign comming off of the

401 up by highway 6-Guelph (evil grin) Messes up people who dont

know the area!

Krista,

Welcome to CHARGE-land! I have been catching up on the last week's messages. I

wanted to mention that your lack of sense of

smell might be related to surgeries or could just be part of CHARGE. The

cranial nerve that is responsible for smell is abnormal in

many (maybe most) people with CHARGE. Lots of people with CHARGE have no (or

little) sense of smell even if they didn't have any

nasal surgeries. As you know, it's often pretty hard to test. Once kids are

old enough and have enough language, you can

ask. Before that, it's often guess work.

When you notice chemicals and fumes, that may be irritation more than smell.

Or you might have a little bit of the sense left.

I am so glad you have found us and are getting to know other young adults with

CHARGE.
