: I wanted to write to you directly, as well as post to the group(now that

I just figured out how to do that) and just say thank you for sharing your

story with the group. I know it was an inspiration to many of us Moms who have

children with apraxia. Teasing is among the many reasons that I homeschool my

children. Seeing my child come home in tears every day would tear me apart,

more so than dealing with the disability. I am so sorry you had to endure that!

Keep learning, keep growing, my friend and you will go far! There are numerous

ways to get help with spelling and grammar. A program that teaches the basics

of the phonograms (sounds the letters make) first will automatically make you a

good speller. I will be using " Spell to Read and Write " by Wanda Sanseri with

my children. I am sure you could find a tutor that uses a similar method -

maybe as a trade for say, watching their special needs child while they take a

break? I am certain I could help you hook up with some e-mail loops where you

might be able to find folks in your area. I believe I read a previous post from

you and you are somewhere in the South, correct? Just an idea that came to

mind.

I am so glad G. spoke with you and made that public post. I truly believe

my child is a genius, but she just can't talk. My husband is dyslexic - but a

master carpenter. We all learn to compensate for our weaknesses. It is not

too late to be the best that you can be!! And, P.S., if it weren't for spell

check in my e-mail program, I wouldn't spell so good either!
