Guest guest
HI , I am at 35 weeks now and I am getting days of major munchies, where just like you I will wake up to eat something. I thought it was cause I had lost weight last week and was making up for it, but now that you mention it maybe it is the end munchies. I know I am keeping my food down better than I have been in the last 8 months. I don't know about the c-section thing because I am on my first baby but my mom had 4 children all c-section and this past feb. she had and open RNY and she said they were about equal. She was back to work (desk job) in a week, and she was moving around the day after the c-section. She said she was on pain meds for a little while just to take the edge off. Good luck with your C-section and keep us posted. ~Ann > I have a few questions for those that have been through this before. > I am having a scheduled C-section on Thursday. Guest guest
, I had 3 c-sections with my previous kiddos. The pain to me was worse than that of my Lap RNY however it wasn't a TERRIBLE oh my gosh what did I do kind of pain. I was up walking on the second day of each delivery and just took it easy. I went back to work after 8 weeks with each of them. Hope this helps and good luck!! Guest guest
OMG , having a C-section was an absolute BREEZE compared to my wls... no lie. The one thing I wish could've been different was that I went through 22 hours of labor BEFORE I got to have my C-section. LOL If I'm blessed enough to ever be pg again and deliver a full-term baby, I will *jump* at the chance for a scheduled C (sorry to the natural-birth proponents; we're all different, right?). The one thing I have heard some moms complain about is the gas pains after their C-sections. I never had any trouble whatsoever. I remember after my wls, having to *get up* and walk around was such a horror and soooo painful. I had an epi for my c-sec and I swear to you, as soon as I could feel my FEET I was out of bed and walking around. It was so much easier. No question. The nurses were surprised; they said they usually have to pester the c-secs to get out of bed and walk. Of course, I also didn't want them to TOUCH my baby boy or take him out of my sight. Guest guest
Are c-sections at a higher rate following WLS? Donna
Guest guest
I don't know of any studies that have looked at this. My guess would be no, that it probably wouldn't make any difference. I had to have one because I never dilated past a 4, despite all kinds of attempts to get there. Isaac never really even dropped into my pelvis to help it along, and looking back, I should've realized that it would possibly pose a problem because I have naturally narrow hips anyway. Besides, his head circumference was at the top of the charts. -K Donna Posey wrote: > Are c-sections at a higher rate following WLS? > > Donna > > > Children are a reward from the Lord. > Psalm 127:3 > > To unsubscribe, please send a blank e-mail to: > ossg-pregnant-unsubscribe > > To change your e-mail settings to Digest or No Mail, please direct your browser to: > http://groups.yahoo.com/group/OSSG-pregnant > and follow the instructions for editing your membership. > >
Guest guest
I don't know about c-sections .. but I did wake up last night at 3 am and had a glass of oj and 3 gingersnap cookies which is so unlike me to get out of bed in the middle of the night to eat something. Not sure why but I ate it and went right back to sleep .. go figure lol Lyssa --- brbuckcc@... wrote: > I have a few questions for those that have been through > this before. > I am having a scheduled C-section on Thursday. Guest guest
Thanks Donna kay, I hope things go well with my next pregnancy...when ever that may be... I had pretty easy and very fast labors...longest was 6 hours , shortest was 30 minutes...yep MINUTES! My children had heads between 14 1/2 and 14 3/4 inches. I have never had an episiotomy ot torn. Needless to say, I don't have narrow hips! LOL No matter how much weight I ever lost...my hips were ther,e ever faithful! Well, I can't wait for my turn! Guest guest
Hi , My wls was my seventh surgery, among others I had an ovarian cystectomy when I was 4 months pregnant with my son and a c-section 5 months later when he was born. I found my cystectomy to be horrible, only because that was my first major abdominal/pelvic surgery. The c- section was a breeze because I knew how to work those silly controls on the hospital bed. I had an open RNY (1/10/01) which was very similar in pain to the c-section just a bit further north! I highly recommend walking as soon as you can after your surgery, believe me it will make you feel better. I took my son in his little wheeled bed and just went up and down the halls. Stay in the hospital as long as you can, there is nothing better than a bed that goes up and down when you have staples in your stomach! Make sure you take it easy, let people who come over to " see the baby " do your laundry or some dishes if they want to help out. I was up and about within a week, just stayed in bed with the baby for most of that first week. I am 18 weeks right now, and I told my OB that if he didn't agree to a scheduled c-section we were gonna have problems! Needless to say, I will be having one too. Hope this helps! Guest guest
I THINK you want eat more when the baby is growing more. But Also don't have as much room in your stomach so you may need to eat more often, smaller amounts than you were already doing. Lenore Question I have a few questions for those that have been through this before. I am having a scheduled C-section on Thursday. My baby is still floating and in a transverse position. I could wait and see what happens but I have no desire to do this. I jumped on the chance for a scheduled C-section. My question is, how bad is it? I had LAP RNY and I was back to work in 9 days (I am a RN and I do 12 hour shifts). I don't want to know how soon I can go back to work, I am taking 12 weeks. But, I want to know if it is comparable to the RNY. I am just curious. Also, I am eating like a pig. Is this normal the last week or so of pregnancy? I feel like I cannot get enough to eat. I still have to eat small amounts but I am hungry every few hours. I even woke up and had a bowl of cereal last night. Has anyone else experienced this? Just curious. Guest guest
I am having a scheduled C-section because he is transverse and still floating. My OB also said I have a narrow inlet and may not have a succesful vag birth anyway. So, without hesitation I jumped on a C-section. I would not mind laboring but I don't want to labor and have to have a c-section anyway. Also, I am tired of waiting. Guest guest
----- Original Message ----- From: royandtrina After losing weight then getting pregnant how was it different from your pregnancies prior to surgery? *** Hmmm, well I became obese during pregnancy, gaining 90 lbs during the pregnancy and then another 90lbs after the pregnancy. Did you " show " any sooner or later? *** I think I've shown sooner because this is my second and also I've had a tummy tuck that to this day is still super tight. Did you feel the baby move sooner or later? *** Sooner and I think it's because again this is my second. WLS or plastics did not affect my uterus. Was morning sickness any worse or less? *** Worse only because since WLS, I am unable to throw up....so MS was worse because nausea stayed w/ me all day and night long. Were any of you pretty close to goal weight and still kept losing? *** I was at goal, had WLS 5/99, conc'd end of Aug/beginning of Sept 01. The big question, if you had insulin dependant GD before did you have it again?! *** Didn't have it w/ before and don't have it now. Btw, welcome you and all the new additions to the list!
