Guest guest
Last year, I bought a Pride Sonic scooter and it's great. It comes apart goes together again very easily. For the fun of it, I timed my husband putting it together today, and it took him all of one minute, 15 seconds. I originally was looking for the smallest scooter I could find, but also found the plastic seat was uncomfortable. The Pride Sonic has a full, cushioned seat with arms that rotate upwards and out of the way, and a lever on the bottom of the seat for the seat to rotate to either side. This makes it very easy to get in and out of. The scooter gives me mobility and helps me be somewhat independent. I ride it from my house to the community clubhouse for activities (about 3/4 of a mile) and don't have to depend on my husband to drive me. It's great in the mall, and I'm taking it on a cruise in November. I'll bet a lot of people will envy me, since the ship is enormous and everyone else will be walking! Do shop around for prices. The Sonic ran from $1100 to $1950, and I'll bet you can do some negotiating in the store. One more thing...be sure to have a certificate of medical necessity BEFORE buying one. I got mine afterwards and Medicare is refusing to pay for it. Good luck.
