Guest guest
I'll bet most people on here, in one way or another, have calendars to remind themselves of important dates and times, such as doctor appointments. Many also have " to do " lists I'm sure to remind themselves of tasks and errands and responsibilities they must take care of. Do you have pleasurable activities on your calendar or " to do " list and I mean other than the occasional lunch or something? Why not? Why don't you have on your Calendar for next Thursday between 1 and 2 to listen to your favorite CD? Or why don't you have on your calendar to call an old friend, Saturday, just so you won't let something else interfere or won't forget? Why don't you have on your " to do " list, to make sure you get a pedicure soon or get a massage or go to a movie? All these things are so important to our lives and yet we never give pleasure and enjoyment the same urgency or priority in life we do other obligations. I now have even a " goals " list of pleasurable things I want to do. Oh it gets longer every day. I am committed to starting down that list and getting as many done as I can. I also intend to keep adding. I intend to have a list up to the day I die and expect it to be longer then than it is now. But i also intend to check off lots and lots of things along the way. I couldn't possibly either do or afford just the road trips (long ones) I have down there in the next year. However, I can make sure i take one soon and then see from there. Now instead of not having a list of things I want to do, I have one that I just have to choose which comes first. Now, speaking of those road trips, I just want to make it on record, that the people on this board don't help there at all, because there's not a person here I wouldn't love to see. Now, the incredible thing is that almost anywhere I head there is someone on here to take the time out along the way and at least have lunch with. What an incredible way to break a long drive or to take a quiet day on a busy trip. Maybe the rest of the trip is just an excuse for those meetings.
