Just goes to prove how everyone is different wether or not we have

had surgery. I wouldn't worry too much about after the baby most

people I have talked to are pretty successful about getting back down

and I think all the cravings go away (from what I have heard) right

after the baby is born. YEAH!!! I can't wait to eat all the old

stuff I used to like! :)

Good luck to you!

I would ditto that, Lenore... and I would encourage you to keep in mind that

every

single person on this list has had their own unique experience. It is certainly

NOT

true that " all the cravings go away " , nor is everyone successful at getting

their

weight back down. It wasn't true for me. Everyone's body reacts differently to

this

whole process.

Watch yourself carefully... PLEASE... do nothing with wild abandon, okay?

Pregnancy is

not a carte blanche for excess.

Perhaps she was referring to good food as " the old stuff I used to like " .

Just a thought...

I know in the first trimester all I wanted was seafood and hotdogs. Now I'm 20

weeks and all I want is carbs (homemade bread and pastas) and hot dogs wrapped

in flour tortillas.

I know I can't wait for this lil girl to be born so I can eat " all the old stuff

I like " ! Old stuff in my book is: chicken (prepared any way except fried),

beef tenderloin, lamb chops, salads. Since being prego, I don't even want see

those items, much less taste them!

Hi all,

Just to set the record straight on what I meant when I wrote " I can't

wait to eat all the old foods I used to like " that was post op from

my RNY. I have been VERY VERY sick throughout the WHOLE pregnancy

and have lost a total of about 25lbs when I was already at 75% of my

weight loss when I got pregnant.

Food and I have not had a problem until I got pregnant and became

even MORE sensitive to dumping than before. Sugar is out of the

question and bread will even make me dump somtimes. Fruit juice is

out, milk is out, and a number of other foods that I could enjoy that

I can't even think about without running to the bathroom.

Protein has been out except for the occasional steak, no chicken, NO

FISH (which I usually love)....etc... I have been living off penut

butter, cheese, and canned fruit for the last 9 months, and although

it seems the baby is getting everything she needs ( according to both

doctors and sonograms ) I am SICK and TIRED of the foods that I can

hold down.

So for me I am looking forward to not being pregnant anymore and

getting back to " normal " as a WLS patient and not an overly food-

sensitive pregnant person. :)

Thanks for the concern, I will keep you posted on my experience as

soon as the baby is born and I know what I weigh in at. Currently I

am below goal anyway so it should be interesting to see what happens.

affair

over and done with!
