Guest guest
Rita, my doctor also told me to increase it up to a certain dosage per day until I felt like it was doing some good but unfortunately it just made me to sleepy so he give me Zanaflex which worked out better for me. My neurologist specializes in Neuro Muscular Diseases and is a MDA Clinic doctor............Sorry about the lose of your dog I had a cat for 20 years and final had to put her down but I turned right around and adopted two more from the SPCA. They are just so much company for me since I'm alone until Doug & Kelley come home in the late afternoon............Flora
Guest guest
: It never ceases to amaze me, how all this doctor's can't get on the same page. My neurologist would never allow me to " fiddle with meds. Rita Luv & Hugs! ************************************* Some people succeed in spite of their handicap. Others succeed because of them. Guest guest
Edith I had to stop at once one day i started to feel nausious and could not breath started shaking had to go to Emergency stayed over night never again for that stuff thaught it was the end . GEO More on Baclofen I find it interesting to read all the different effects Baclofen has on different people. I'm also trying to figure out what to do. My biggest problem (before surgery) was that I would wake up in the middle of the night with leg spasms and pain in my calf. I had taken Baclofen during the day and stopped after 2-3 days because of nausea. So I decided to try taking 10 mg. only before bedtime, and lo and behold, the night spasms stopped. It's been two months since surgery, and I still take the nighttime Baclofen. I hesitate to stop without medical advice, so I have to wait until I get back to Florida and see my local neuro. Has anyone just stopped taking Baclofen? I was under the impression that one had to go off slowly, but at only 10 mg a day, I wonder if that's necessary. Guest guest
Yolanda ive had the BPV Begnin Posistional Vertigo i was givin an excersize for this it's called the Brandt Darrof excersize they gave me a pamphlet with instuctions there is a thind called ear rocks .a crystaline rock which is normally in the ear labyrinth .A piece of this breaks off and moves around in the labyrinth when you move your head sending a moving signal to the brain and making you feel dizzy.I did these every morning for a week and it went away if you get up in the morning and you dont have the virtigo dont do the excersize.Meclezine or Antivert is what they gave me .No coordination is part of this disease or slow coordination .this is located in the Cerebellum ,Paretial and Cortical parts of the Brain .I beleive that this disease has alot to do with why these Vertigo spells happen as my Mom had some Vertigo before she died of Alzheimers. But i couldnt convince the ENT of that when he got wind of my complicated disease he did every thing possible to get rid of me .I could tell he was'nt interrested in what i have .He said i cant help you any longer .You can look up These things at www.medlineplus.gov and maybe they have the excersize there?GEO More on Baclofen I find it interesting to read all the different effects Baclofen has on different people. Guest guest
Hi Geo, Thanks for the information. I'll look into it. It's amazing to me how some physicians react so irrational when they are confronted with something they don't understand, almost as if to say that they don't want to let on that they don't have the knowledge in a particular area or afraid of the patient's family reaction to their ignorance in the area. You know, we are all human and part of not knowing everything comes along with the territory. Doctor's like these are very unaware that this can become a hindrance to their practice. Being straight up with people, I guess in all areas, is the best way to assure your security and trust. My doctor is good in that when he doesn't understand a particular symptom or ailment he will refer me to others who specialize in those areas, and that does not make him less intelligent, only wiser. Well Geo, thanks again and sorry your mom had to experience vertigo while she was ill, I know it can be a bummer. Take care.
