Guest guest
Hello all, I have just been through 1 month of home modifications. It was a lot like childbirth - you really doubt it will ever be over - but when it is you are thrilled and all the pain is forgotten. I then caught a flu like virus which made me very weak, but I am getting better. I had just bought a 2 storey townhouse 8 years ago when the symptoms of PLS slowly started. Since I can no longer go upstairs, I had to add everything I need downtairs - accessible bathroom and built-in wardrobe under stairs etc. This means my adult son who lives with me can make upstairs his private domain - so it has worked out quite well for both of us. Although I am very independent (I have my own carers coming in) it is comforting to have him coming and going, and living here. As i am in a wheelchair, I am investigating an automatic door opener for my front door. Does anyone know anything about these. It would make life much easier for me. I use every gadget I can find to give me the illusion of independence. Thank goodness for modern technology. Blessings to all Keep well Janet from Australia
