Hi all--

RE: my liver biopsy that I had done I went to my gastroenterologist

Tues April 23 and

Like I thought, the gastroenterologist put me on Prednisone 20 mg /

day, and on Imuran 50 mg/ day...

Says he's not worried about the sarcoid in the liver. As for the

fibrosis, that is just scar tissue and he's hoping the meds will stop

that growth... Dr. hopes the fibrosis won't get any worse

either...

He said it may repair itself, but he is not sure...

The autoimmune hepatitis will also be controled by the meds he put me

on.. . He said I will have to be on the meds the rest of my life...

He

will decrease the prednisone to a lower dose.. I have to have

blood

work drawn every month to keep an eye on my liver enzymes, and when

they

start going down, that is when he will decrease my prednisone..

I will

continue on the same dose of imuran for the rest of my life, if I

understood him correctly...

I won't ever get over this autoimmune hepatitis but he hopes to control

it's advancement...

At least I now know what I am dealing with in terms of my liver situation...

I am so Thankful for this wonderful group and the continued support

we give each other.. YOU GUYS are AWESOME!!!!!!

Three Cheers for YOU!!!! HIP HIP HOORAY!!!! HIPP HIPP

Here's to better health for us all!!!!!!!!
