ICUS is the name of a cyber-community.

I'm just the goofer that serves as I can.

I do maintain the www.nerosworld.com/icus website.

I get very little time to contribute.

I do what I can -- off and on.

Please find the info you want under the OTHER click button.

You will see Carolin's stuff listed first.

Thanks

~Phil~

> I am Kim Hosier and I am new to the list. The 50+ emails I got already

were quite interesting, and sometimes funny (like the pumpkin pies ones!).

Anyway, some history:

>

> This is now the fourth period in my life that I have had hives. I had

them at ages 3, 13, 26, and now at 33. Before they have lasted about 8

months and then disappeared as quickly as they came. Between breakouts

though, I do have some very mild pressure urticaria and angiodema (angiodema

only with hands). I have had them this time for @ 6 months. I am in the

care of an allergist and an endocrinologist. The allergist referred me to

the endo. due to some slightly abnormal thyroid tests. Of course, the

endo's thyroid tests came back normal, so back to the drawing board!

>

> I have hives basically all the time now, but in varying severity, with or

without angiodema and itching. I am taking Zyrtec as needed, but I am

trying to only take it when I'm really bad because I am @ 1 month pregnant

with our second child. It seems that my hives are worse now that I'm

pregnant. I worried that the pregnancy would bring on the hives with the

first child, but it didn't. What has anyone else's experience been with

hives and pregnancy?

>

> Carolyn, the yeast infection concept sounds like it would be worth

checking out, but I would imagine that being on the yeast diet while I'm

pregnant wouldn't be good. If I can get the diet, I guess I can ask my o.b.

Is it up on Phil's website yet? If so, where is Phil's website?

>

we are new to the group also my son signed his father up but scott

really isn't into it. was diagnosed on May 30 with stage IV

colon cancer with peritoneal carcinomatosis with involvement of

omentum and malignant ascites. the doctors recomended chemo we

started our first round of chemo June 16 and things started going

down hill from there. Now we have been in the hospital for one month

and three days he now has a bowel blockage. He has done 4 rounds of

chem and things are starting to WORK!!!we have the ascites under

control at least it stop building up so he doesn't have to have it

drained off of his abdomon every 10 days. and we are now working on

the blocage. The blocage is inoperatable because of the ascites in

his abdomon. so we sit and wait for the chemo to shrink the tumer

that is blocking his colon so he can not have a bowel movement.

things are alot better now then they have been in the last few

weeks. Please tell your father that we are all praying for him and

that he should learn as much about his cancer as he can so that he

can feel comfortable with the things that need to be done to help

him. This has been a really hard time for us. our children visit and

help out as much as they can. I am so happy that you are able to

help you father and mother they will both need it very much. Just

hang in there and stay very positive. and things will work out just

how they are suppose to. Oh yah scott is only 48.

Glad to have you a board

Diane

Welcome to this group. You will find lots of great people and lots

of great information. I am in the same boat that you are only that

my father has already had surgery to remove to colon cancer and will

start chemo on Thrusday to shrink the tumors in his liver. Please

let us know if we can help out.

Hi:

I'm relatively new myself. My husband Bert was diagnosed July 9,

Stage III colon cancer and has just started his chemo (first one last

week). They were able to operate and get it all, so they say, but

chemo will help with any micromatasteses. Bert is only 51. You have

most definitely come to the right group. Being new myself, I have

found the people here both compassionate and very knowledgeable.

Keep thinking positive thoughts, don't let negativity set in, and

don't breath life into the disease. Hang in there and know that you

are not alone.
